Gaga and Stones live

Couldn't find any better video, but this was good. Didn't know she had a voice like this, their voices go very well together. And how old is Jagger now? sounds like his voioce didn't change at all. Loved this performance!

So they can't perform with a younger generation? They don't need her to draw attention, she was just guest. Looked like a sold out venue to me and I don't think those people bought tickets to see Gaga.

Mary J. Blige performed this song with them a few weeks ago, I didn't see no complaints about that lol

Thats basically the point I am making lol You said the same thing I said lol

I dont see what value Gaga added. lol She was just jumping up and down and her vocals were meh lol I think they just added her because shes Lady Gaga and they didnt need to. It kinda takes away from the performance as a distraction.

Its nothing wrong with performing with a younger generation but its cheesy just to pick a big pop star out today...... why not looking for a un-well known talent that is young that might add something of value to the performance instead of just their name?

A number of years ago when Mary murdered (in the literal sense) U2's "One" during a duet, where was the hue and cry over that vocal disaster? lol

If somebody had posted Mary J's performance, I would have said the same thing to. Ive seen Mary J live for myself and although (Im a Mary J fan) ..she is not a good live performer or live vocal performer.

They act like those are the only artists that exist and dont strive to collab with better or talented new artists that might not be as popular. I just suggested they look for artists that will add something to their performance instead of going the easy route.

ok, i thought you meant some how they needed her to draw attention. But when do you see big names doing duets with an unknown artist? It's entertainment, big names! big names! you know lol

Well maybe picking a unknown artist is an exaggeration but someone that is not as popular. There are many artists that are not as popular as Gaga that are still well known, you know what I mean?

It's not often MICK JAGGER is out-strutted on stage at a Rolling Stones gig. But after a rousing duet of Gimme Shelter with Lady Gaga on Saturday night, Mick sounded starstruck. After the gig, The Rolling Stones frontman said: "I can't believe I just performed with Lady Gaga." The Poker Face singer joined Mick and the rest of the band on stage for the last concert in their 50 And Counting Tour. The singer had previously Tweeted that she was excited about joining Mick, Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts for their gig at Newark's Prudential Center. As the pair belted out Gimme Shelter, Gaga stomped across the stage in a stripey black, silver and gold, low-cut catsuit that revealed her cleavage. And she didn't wobble once during the performance, even though she was wearing very high, spike-heeled, black platform boots. The 26-year-old singer wasn't the only star to join the Stones on stage for the gig. Bruce Springsteen also dueted with the band for a stellar performance of Tumbling Dice while The Black Keys played on their performance of Who Do You Love. But none of the guest performers looked as vibrant as Lady Gaga.

If the Stones wanna bring Lady Gaga, that's their prerogative. It's obvious from the performance that she digs them and was (possibly) influenced by Mick Jagger as a performer so her performing with them makes sense.

I dont razz

But what does that have to do with the fact that most of the legendary acts pick the biggest stars to perform with? That doesnt change that.

This not just with Gaga other legendary acts have done this ALOT and the only reason why they do it is to draw more ratings or audiences.

All I simply suggested was why not look for some lesser known acts that can add something to the act or performance like Prince did not to long ago when he let Janelle Monae and Mint Condition open up for him.

I think anybody who honestly believes that acts like her get picked because they are artistic or can enhance the performance are NAIVE.... their added soley off their popularity.

You're right and it would be nice to see, but we're talking about really commercial acts here. It's what a lot of people like, we wouldn't have this thread when it wasn't the Stones with a big star. It's commercial and entertainment. Prince always gave lesser known artists a change, although he plays his hits over and over again he's not that commercial as people like the Stones or Madonna (she didn't perform that ganggang style shit because of the artistic value).

That said, I think Gaga did a good job.

I understand where your coming from. I disagree, with your point though about everyone wanting to see current stars and old stars.

Most of the time people just want to see the legendary acts by themselves. You said yourself, regardless people came to see the Stones and not Gaga.

Maybe Gaga did do a good job, I honestly couldnt tell. lol I tuned in 1 minute of the video before it got taken off and she basically was jumping up and down and her vocals didnt seem that good to me but too each is own. I didnt get what she was doing and thought she was trying to hard.

I dug it cool

I Also loved the live performance she did with Bruce Springsteen not to long ago.

It would be cool to see GaGa do a full on rock album.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener
