so what if the mj fans took paris side geez janets fanbase does not consist of all mj she has her own fanbase u know.. the superbowl was the only thing in her career that hurt her image and that was talked about worldwide... no one cares about the paris incident outside of the internet.. Janet said that she wants to do brazilian music and she was recenly spotted at bebel gilberto show so who knows.

I hope that she experiments with her music and does not do a generic abum/songs just to get a hit or become relevant again. Like others have said janet has nothing left to prove so i hope makes an album like the velvet rope or rhythmn nation where she talked about important topics. i really hope she pours her heart out for her next album and takes her time with it.

All she needs is Jimmy and Terry to do the WHOLE album abnd for her to put her all into it again. No side projects (films etc). Just concentrate on the Jam n Lewis project.

madonna's new album was a waste of my money, and both are my top 2 female artists....I would rather see a janet show over madonna though I've been to both, more janet ones, but over the last 10 years, I preferred madonna's music though i liked all for you and discipline

so shut your piehole and go back to janet's buttcrack aka janet xone

falloff Tell us how you really feel?

I agree Janet is definitly underrated and I would love for her to make new music but I dont get these J fans that constantly have to revert to insulting other artists for no reason. disbelief Madonna has always been more popular than Janet but even her MDNA album didnt do exceptionally well.

According to JanetNation Facebook page:

Janet Nation New Album Insider: CONFIRMATION that Janet Jackson is currently in the studio, a reliable source has confirmed that the producer Janet Jackson is working with hasn't been named yet, and isn't her long time Producers Jimmy Jam ...&Terry Lewis, as of now Jimmy and Terry have nothing to do with the project, Jimmy jam has said he'd love to work with Janet Jackson again but the ball is in her court (out Jimmy's mouth)

Why would that fallout with Paris hurt Janet's music career?

Too many Michael-fans took Paris' side.

The decline in the quality of her music, which was always overyped anyway, the banal, boring silly segues on her albums, The obviously planned wardrobe malfunction (yawn), her turning into a cavewoman by endorsing real fur, the endless Janet threads on here has made me likely to not buy any new music from her, Nothing to do with Paris. lol

The fur thing alone would have done it though. Fuck her for that.

If that statement is true, I'm thinking she will still work with Jimmy and Terry, but they may not be producing 100% of the album. I hope she ventures into Brazillian Jazz, as she's talked for years about wanting to experiment with that genre of music.

Well yeah they said they got 1 song done in an interview earlier this year. But Brazilian Jazz influenced album would be interesting too...Either way I just don't want her to wait too long to put out a new album pray

The fallout between Janet and her niece Paris that was caught on video may have ruin all chances in hell of a music career comeback.

And even before then, Michael's death may have already taken whatever little amount of interest in music Janet has left.

The irony in all of THIS^ is that it would now take Paris and (maybe) her brother Prince Michael to keep the Jackson's name in the industry for the time being.

the real irony is that anyone believes this situation w/those 3 kids to begin with

even though they are enjoying the ride of a lifetime (privilege), it's going to be short lived

as far as Janet, the entire Jackson family was sold out over two decades ago........

Janet Jackson has absolutely nothing to prove....for a woman to embark on a solo career beginning in 1982 and remained vibrant up until 2001, that's 20 years....

that's not luck, or accident, or coincidence.....

no female has crafted an album better than Rhythm Nation 1814 since......

and here's some tidbit of information....

those 02 concerts Michael signed up for in March of 2009.......that deal was not about coming back, or rebuilding his career

that was Michael asking the establishment, to essentially save him from the brink...

those shows were never going to happen.......

there was never a real physical that took place, it couldn't have been, that's why that insurance company who covered the event wanted to investigate the legitimacy of what they were told

because if he did take a real physical, there's no way he would have passed it, because he was in no condition/shape to do it, he hadn't performed a concert tour in 12 years

the man should have chilled out......

the real reason that contract was secured betweeen both parties, is that Michael had to relinquish all of his assets, music catalogs, his own catalogs, the rights to the music publishing company he formed with his brother Randy in the early 80s (Miran)...everything.........

he no longer owned his name, his music, his history, the association with The Jackson Five......after 40 plus years.....everything pertaining to Michael Jackson is now fully owned and ran by the establishment.....

this is why Randy and other members of the family have contested the validity of that precarious will that the estate is trying to uphold....

Janet owns her name though.......

If she'd retired tomorrow, she won't be missing for anything

"Janet owns her name though"

Right, and she also has her own production company, and stands to gain control of her Virgin Records masters next year. She's set for life, even without those masters, really.

exactly.....she's set......

very few artists gain the opportunity to own his or her own masters.....

Michael would have been set too but ultimately he set himself up instead

Maybe she finally has something to say. I remember in the past Terry Lewis asking her why was she in the studio if she didn't want or have anything to write about. Perhaps she's ready now. I'd rather wait for something hot and cohesive versus something rushed solely for sales purposes.

Oh....and I hope it's not Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins too. Been there, done that.

I'm sure you'd recognise it's an emotive issue, but really? i should respect this as a life choice? Should i respect everybody's life choices? cause there's a few i don't dig too much. A racist? a serial killer? Maybe you don't give a toss on this issue (and that's fair enough) But I'd hope there are some injustices in the world you would rail against, things you feel are just wrong in your heart. Would that make you wrong for doing so?

Standing up for something you believe in doesn't make you a 'do-gooder' or over-righteous (which i wasn't but might well be now), it's just being human.

You're right though in one respect, moaning doesn't do anything on it's own. I actively campaign on a number of animal rights issues and have done for the last thirtysomething years.

I just thought Janet would know better. I'm sure a fair few of her own fans were saddened and disappointed by this endorsement and now think a lot less of her for doing it.

Your last line sums Janet and her wearing fur IMO. Pathetic.

It won't matter to her or you, but she lost a fan. I'm happy enough knowing i'm done with her, and for that matter, i'm now done with you too.

Janet is not ova, imo. She is an icon. Most veteran artists don't sell big numbers anymore. I believe she can have a hit song again with the right label and/or team behind her.

Hope Janet's next album is critically acclaimed. I would love to see her explore more rock music or even Brazillian Jazz.
