Your Top 10 Artists/ Bands

I haven't posted on here 4 a while, so I decided to come up with a generic thread: What are your top 10 favorite artists/bands of all time. Well here are mine:

10. Jamiroquai- It may be a surprise to you all that Jamiroquai is on someone's top 10 favorite, but I feel that they have brought back the past, but have added elements to the present to their music, Their first 3 albums are AMAZING acid jazz, and though their disco songs may be cheezy, their most recent album, Rock DUst Light Star is good!

9. Steely Dan- Brings back the inner city jazz rock of the 70s, and I cant get enough of their best album, Aja. Their lyrics and the musical structure of their songs are one of the best.

8. James Brown- Damn, he is good! My favorite song has to go to Super Bad, or the payback.

7. Billy Joel- I grew up on his music, and while the 80s wasnt as friendly to Billy Joel as the 70s were, he was still good. My favoite albums have to be, generically, the STranger or 52nd street.

6. The Beatles- Nothing much to say

5. Jimi Hendrix- Axis: Bold As Love explains it all

4. Michael JAckson- the king of pop music, he one of my favorite artists vocally, and unlike most fans, I dig MJs outtakes more than his actual releases. MJ was too much of a media personality for him to be higher.

3. Bruce Springsteen- Born in The USA may be the most overrated album in my opinion, but Bruce in the 70s, his folk albums and his releases from the past decade make him a superstar. Not to mention his live act. I'd have to sayBruces albums from his first album up to Nebraska are my favorites.

2. Pink Floyd- My favorite band ever, lyrically and musically. The Wall is a masterpiece, but Animals has to be my favorite album, or wish you were here, or saucerful of secrets.... GOD I CANT DECIDE!

1. Prince- Not surprising, especially on a Prince forum. I think all of you can comprehend why he is number 1.

SO, WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 10s?

er

Prince goes without saying
Bob Dylan is simply the best writer in popular music
James Brown AND the JBs ate funkier than anyone.
The Rolling Stones are The Greatest Band on earth.
I don't know many French chansonniers, but I love Jacques Brel
Manu Chao makes world music in the truest sense of the word.
Fela Kuti IS Africa.
What? No women yet?! Kate Bush is unique!
Frank Zappa is a genre all of his own.
John Lee Hooker. The boogieman.
