Y'all can hate me but I'd much rather listen to Mariah at her height than Chaka. Mariah is nowhere near the legend Chaka is thoguh and Chaka has a lot of awesome material.

Mariah is my third favorite artist so I have a preference to listen to her. This doesn't mean, however, that I think she is a better artist.

Although after going thru some of my old cd's I noticed that I'm a bigger Mariah fan than I realized!!! I have quite a few of her cd's. If someone had asked me what I thought of Mariah I would've answered "she a'ight". But I have more of her cd's than any other female! How I didn't recognize my level of fandom for Mariah, I don't know. But I have to bow down to her.

I still choose Chaka though!

For me, Chaka Khan is the very definition of music so it's definately and always will be Chaka. It's been Chaka for the past 36 years.

Mimi, however, comes in a very close 2nd. I can't say Chaka has ever recorded a song that has brought me to tears. Mimi has recorded several. This was early in her career of course. Being Mimi has named Chaka as a major influence and Chaka has stated that Mimi is one of the few people she would get all dressed up and come out for, I could NEVER pit them against each other. There's a lot of love there. both have brought a tremendous amount of joy to my life, musically speaking, and I support them no matter what. Although Mimi is making it damn hard with the recent release of her new single.

Mariah can definitely sing, but I have never been a fan. She comes off stupid and clueless and I'm sick of all her posing.

Chaka has had her ups and downs, but she has had class through it all.
