I couldn't agree more, especially after this last album.

Let's put it into perspective. She has not released anything of substance since, "Ray of Light". "Hard Candy", was a joke and this new one is nothing to write home about either. So, he does have a point...

Depends on what you mean by "substance," i guess. I'm not a huge Madge fan, but Music and Confessions had some enjoyable material, I thought.

I do think Madonna is starting to show signs of... hmm... irrelevance, though. Where she's always exploited trends and the momentum/talents of other artists, these days it's coming off somehow more opportunistic and the stuff of a desperate, aging star.

This fat, miserable slob's career is done and dusted, so he has no right to talk about Madonna's career like that. Atleast she continues to make music and is also out there touring.

Ps I don't even like Madonna. I just had to defend her against this bitter tool.

Elton is just an old, bitter drama queen lol He's always bitching and complaining these days.I'm a huge fan of his 70s work, but these days,he's a joke.I don't think Madonna pays him any attention, anyway.

Elton and his husband attended Madonna's Confession tour in 2006,but things soured after that.Supposedly, she had some big Hollywood party, but Elton wasn't invited, and he got pissed. He's been making bitchy comments about her ever since lol

Well, just because your tour does not mean that your recent stuff is any good. Let's face it, most of the people who want to see people like Madonna on tour are the one's who dig her early stuff. Mind you, Elton is at the stage in his life, where he can choose, whether or not he WANTS to go out on tour.

I remember the feud going as far back as 1995 when they were both at the Brit Awards and Elton was throwing a hissy fit at Madonna getting the best dressing room.

Elton John's Career is Over and has been Over since the early 90's.

Madonna still kicks ass and thou her music has become somewhat dispoable since Hard Candy. Thats really just (2) albums out of 12 that haven't done so well... and please don't throw up "American Life", that album sold 5 million copies. So, Elton just needs to focus on being a mother to his son and shut the *#(K up!

Elton and Madonna are both what I would call "veteran artists".He had his biggest successes in the 70s and she had her biggest successes in the 80s.So,in a way, they're sorta in the same boat.Elton may think that she is "over" but I don't see him having top 10 hits and huge record sales these days, either.

Elton John is one of the biggest songwriters ever! Sad people don`t know the facts...

His live gigs are great musicianship too....

He is bitching, ok, but let`s be honest....madonnas last album is so bad it hurts!

And i liked confessions and even hard candy biggrin

Saw her on her candy live show: So much lip sync and prerecorded music, it was not at all live!

Elton doesnt have to be on the charts, he's shifted his focus to broadway and is doing quite well there. He's evolved while Vadge well........pops out her old tit, puts swastika's on french politicians heads and charges her stans $$$$ for a private concert where she yammers on for 15 minutes and then leaves.

I know Elton John's talented as fuck and he was the shit in the '70s. Why does it always get brought up whenever he said something that he keeps ranting about as if he just discovered it? lol Of course he don't need to hit the charts anymore, he's set for life though.

well, madonna did well all the years more or less with getting the hottest producers and makin her a hit record...but nowadays she really seems like a 53 year old lady trying to be 17....it is really sad...

what elton meant with, she should make good and honest pop music like ray of light for instance, is right! But hopping around with nicki minaj and doing bubble gum eurodance thrash is pointless.... smile

And it is a flop like never before!

I agree with him on MDNA being horrible. I think it's easily her worst album.

But to say Madonna's career is over because of it? Um..she's on a sold-out world tour. Granted album sales haven't been as great as they were in the 80s, 90s, and early 00s but I mean who's numbers stay the same after 30 years in the business? How much did his last CD scan?

And what exactly did she do that was so horrible to Gaga? The reductive comment?

Well I didn't approve of what Madonna did either but a spade's a spade. Besides both are in the R&R Hall of Fame. lol
