You can't really judge a concert from youtube, you have to be there to experience it.

But you can judge if the material presented is worth spending half your month's mortgage for a ticket lol

This looks like the most interesting Madonna tour since Reinvention but, that said, I don't think I'll part with the cash to see it. Same goes for Lady Gaga, by the way. There's just so much more to do with my hard earned cash.

Wait till the DVD to come out then and watch it on a big flatscreen like I do

This. I'm in Australia so while it would've been nice to hear she was confirmed to come, truth is I probably wouldn't have gone. I loved the Born This Way album but just couldn't summon the effort to see Gaga, especially so soon after seeing Prince.

Well you better really love it because aside from a couple of the big hits the entire tour is songs from BTW lol

He joked about her doing concerts in a wheelchair and said he hadn't heard about a new album, even after I told him there was one and although he hadn't heard it, he still dissed her. Then, he asked what had she done recently and I mentioned the Superbowl--after that my sister told him that they had both watched it and told him to hush... lol

I still don`t know, go to the concert or not ... Madonna will be in Eastern Europe in early August.
I'm not a big fan of her concerts on DVD, but would like to see live, because it is one of the few truly huge artists who are still with us
But most of the reviews are not good ..
Guys, any of you saw show? What are your impressions? cool

I've never seen Madonna in concert but one of my best friends had seen her live in three different eras and he says that she puts on a great show full out... with no holds barred every time. This will be my first time going to a Madonna concert although I was first a fan in the early 80s... I expect a great show from a professional show-woman; Madonna is not the best singer or a musician, but she never pretended to be onw--she is an enternainer in the classic sense--and that is who I am going to see.

Haven't replied here in ages, but of course I'm massive Madonna fan as you know. but my parents went with me to the show too in Amsterdam, the second show and they loved it(they are not huge Madonna fans. But they really love it and my dad now plays MDNA in the car lol ). Most people enjoyed it. some reviews are negative because it's Madonna. But I've seen lots of positive reviews too! the show is great and live it's amazing. I really think this is one of her best tours!

Love the MDNA Tour! no I'm not just saying this because I'm fan. I liked Sticky and Sweet tour but it was totally not on Madonna's level.

This tour is and I've seen it 7 times. It's amazing.

If you have the money for it and there are still good tickets left.... you should definitely go!

True! Madonna is not the greatest singer or musician but that's not what it is about with Madonna. this show is theatrical , and shows Madonna on her best side. she really seem to enjoy this tour and performing.

Btw. she sings most of the things live with back up vocals... I think 80 % is not lip synch. so it's live with mostly some back up vocals.

No, I saw the banner advertising it on YT earlier too and just kept right on doing what I was doing.

I dig Madonna, but OLD-SCHOOL Madonna. Me and my friend were just talking a day or two ago about how much we hate that she's changed so much.

Madonna voices love for tolerant France in Paris show

Pop star Madonna treated fans to an intimate show at Paris’ famed Olympia theatre on Thursday, voicing her love for a France that is open to minorities and artists and reinterpreting “Je t’aime moi non plus,” a song laced with sexual innuendo.

Tickets for the surprise show – a last-minute addition to Madonna’s “MDNA” tour – were offered first to members of her fan club and sold out within minutes. Some people began gathering outside the Olympia as early as Wednesday for the show, and anticipation was running high.

In the end, reaction was mixed and some in the audience voiced disappointment at the show’s length, a mere 45 minutes. A few called for refunds as they left the 2,700-seat theatre, Paris’ oldest surviving music hall which has welcomed iconic stars from Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel to the Rolling Stones.

The concert was expected to have a political overtone to it, and Madonna started off on a rebellious note.

“I have a special affinity with France, and I have for many years,” the pop star shouted at the start. “It could go all the way to Napoleon because I think of myself as a revolutionary.”

Yet there was no repeat of the performance she gave at the 80,000-seat Stade de France on July 14, which angered France’s far right party leader Marine Le Pen by showing a picture of her with a swastika superimposed on her face.

France’s National Front has since announced it will sue her.

On Thursday, Madonna offered only veiled criticism of the party’s anti-immigrant stance, paying homage to a France which she said once “opened its arms to minorities.”

“I know that I have made a certain Marine Le Pen very angry with me,” she said, adding that her intention was not to make enemies. “We are entering some very scary times in the world. People are afraid, and what happens when people are afraid? They say ‘get out! You’re the reason. You’re the problem. You’re to blame,’” she told the audience.

Tickets for the show, which included both classics and songs from her latest album “MDNA,” started at 80 euros ($98) and were offered first to members of Madonna’s fan club. They sold out in less than 5 minutes, organizers said, and the Olympia’s website crashed several times due to heavy traffic.

Fans started gathering at noon on Wednesday to attend the show, with many pitching tents on the sidewalk to make sure they got as close as possible to the Material Girl.

Die-hard fan, 25-year-old Ally Gloser from Cologne, Germany, said she had bought tickets for 11 of Madonna’s shows over the summer, at a cost of 2,500 euros.

“Normally, I’m a student. Now I’m a poor student,” she said.

True to form, the 53-year-old offered up an array of sexy outfits and age-defying moves, at one point adding a French touch for Parisian fans with a black leather pencil skirt, red lipstick, and a French beret. She paid tribute to several French artists, including actor Alain Delon and singer Piaf.

“I walk in her footsteps, actually I crawl in her footsteps”, she said of the “La Vie en rose” singer while kneeling on stage.

Under red lights and on an entirely empty stage, Madonna sang the famous French song, “Je t’aime moi non plus” (“I love you, neither do I”) written by Serge Gainsbourg in the late 1960s. She tied a dance partner down on a chair and pretended to shoot him in the mouth.

Audience reaction to the show was mixed.

“The show itself was pretty good, but she didn’t even sing for an hour”, complained 33-year-old Guillaume Delaval. “She spoke for 15 minutes about tolerance, it’s not the U.N. here.”

Pierce Brosnan, the Irish actor who played in four James Bond movies, attended the show with his wife.

“We’re fans. My wife wanted to come, so we bought tickets,” he told Reuters, explaining he was in Paris to shoot a movie with Emma Thompson called “Love Punch.”

Madonna will perform in Nice, France on August 21. After shows in the Middle East and Europe, the singer will give concerts in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

Liz Rosenberg has released the following statement about the controversy that sparkled from Madonna's intimate gig at the Olympia:

"Madonna's Paris club show was planned as her heartfelt thank you to France which she expressed at the start of her show. Despite a grueling concert tour, she desperately wanted to perform for her fans in an intimate setting at the historic Olympia as a means to honor her love for French artists, French cinema and a tribute to France's long history of welcoming and inspiring artists, authors, painters, poets and minorities from other countries over the years.

The show was not billed as her full MDNA concert and tremendous effort was made to keep the ticket prices reasonable ($100 for 2000 floor seats) and keep them strictly for her fans.

The show cost Madonna close to a million dollars to produce. She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes. And by the way, she put on a fabulous show which was streamed for millions of fans around the world."

Snarky little response from Liz. That's sort of the problem...Madonna (and apparently her team) are entirely out of touch with the majority of the world.

$100 is not a "reasonable price" for a 45 minute performance. That sort of "I'm amazing and worth it" attitude is what's turning many off. It seems only the catty gay audience thinks that mentality is cool.

Also...Madonna ain't Prince. She simply doesn't have the artistry or talent to pull off a surprise, last minute, short, intimate gig like this. Madonna's success - her main draw - is putting on a phenomenal spectacle of a show. She can't play instruments well. She can't sing well. And her best dancing days are long gone. All she's got left is the 2 hour spectacle. Take that away, and Madonna is not interesting at all.

hmmm those fans should have known that this wasn't gonna be a 'regular' MDNA tour performance. It was at a smaller, more intimate venue, which should have been the first clue. This was just a suprise "teaser" perfomance that Madonna decided to do on a day off from the regular dates....a fun,simple,8-song performance. It's like those promo club gigs that Madonna did during the 'Confessions' era.

Despite all the controversy, I think the mini-gig was one her best performances. Loved everything about it. I think the intimate up close atmosphere made it more personal than her shows in larger venues.

Dont count me in on that, I think it's disgusting & everything about her these days also is. In the past years re concert prices and exceptionally bad albums & shitty ideals around people owing her something for her apparent grandeur 'talent', Ive dropped out of being an admirer totally, sold any collection of her I had and refused to buy and new releases. Rotten to the core these days is how I'd describe her.

What's really disgusting is the hate that some people on the Internet have towards her. I don't recall Madonna ever saying people owed her anything. You can like it or not, as she sings. She isn't forcing you to spend money on her if you don't like it. Her concert prices have not gone up in the last two tours, they've always been the same. Her tours are elaborate and cost a lot of money to produce. She remains an amazing performer. Madonna never says I am the best singer or guitar player so she doesn't exagerrate about her talent. She promotes herself as an all around entertainer where singing is part of the overall package. She gives you what she promises. I don't think anyone who puts the word "talent" in quotation marks was ever her fan in the first place. She is the same performer she has always been. You may think her recent albums are "exceptionally bad" but that's your taste. Many people enjoy them.
