National Front To Sue Madonna

France’s far right National Front will sue Madonna after she screened footage of party leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika superimposed on her face at a concert in Paris on Saturday, a party official said.

The video shown on a huge screen has already been used on other legs of the U.S. singer’s tour and shows the singer’s face merging with other public figures, such as Pope Benedict and former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who was toppled by popular protests last year.

The face of the National Front leader appears for a few seconds, with the Fascist symbol briefly imposed on it, and is followed by the features of a man resembling Adolf Hitler.

“A private plaintiff’s case for insult will be presented next week,” Florian Philippot, vice-president of the National Front, told Reuters.

He called the images an “unacceptable” provocation for attempting to associate Le Pen, who won 18 percent of the vote in April’s first-round presidential election in France, with fascism.

Since taking the reins of the National Front last year from her ex-paratrooper father Jean-Marie, Le Pen has tried to widen her party’s appeal by expelling extremists and cracking down on racist talk and anti-Semitism.

“It is our duty to bring a complaint to defend our voters and our supporters,” Philippot said.

Although Le Pen’s calls for protectionism and for France’s to exit the euro currency have won sympathy with some parts of the electorate, the party won only two seats in the 577-member National Assembly in last month’s legislative elections, partly due to France’s first-past-the-post electoral system.

I was there...complete with wellies and plastic poncho...but only a few minutes of rain and a dry ground. She was amazing and from my position the stage and visuals were outstanding. Both Like A Virgin and I'm Addicted were highlights for me cool

I feel bad for the fans in Australia confused Madonna is,once again, ignoring her Australian fans.....

http://www.news.com....9-1226428895179

Madonna scraps plan to tour Australia

MADONNA has scrapped plans for her first Australian tour in 20 years.

Her manager, Guy Oseary, reportedly told promoter Live Nation about Madonna's change of heart overnight.

Live Nation Australia confirmed the cancellation today, but had no further comment.

Madonna was set to announce summer dates for Melbourne and Sydney on July 12, but postponed the announcement until after the London Olympics.

Stadiums in Sydney and Melbourne had been booked for her new show, MDNA, in January and February.

Earlier this year, Oseary said: ``Madonna really needs to go to Australia. We are long overdue for a trip Down Under and apologise for that. It will happen.''

Live Nation boss Arthur Fogel added: ``We'll get to these markets where she's never been, some exciting new places, and get back to Australia after too long a time.''

But rival promoters claim the show was not viable in a crowded summer tour market.

Coldplay and Red Hot Chili Peppers will tour in summer.

Nicki Minaj and Nickelback are also set to announce last-quarter dates.

Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg is being sought for comment.

The MDNA tour has had a controversial start in Europe. Madonna flashed her breast in Istanbul and displayed a Nazi swastika in Paris.

Punters had also complained about ticket prices, which ranged from $45 to $600.

But Madonna urged: ``Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together and come to my show. I'm worth it.''

Madonna last performed in Australia, with her Girlie Show, in 1993.

There's a rumor that Madonna isn't playing Australia because she wants to start work on her next album,at the end of the year. They say she has already picked the main producer: Avicii.

So annoyed that Madonna has cancelled Australia again, though being on the tail of the tour, it was always a possibility. They are saying it is due to the big acts heading our way at the end of the year - George Michael, Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nickelback (?), Big Day Out concerts, but still it is Madonna, she would sell out very easily.

Hopefully she will do what Prince did, and take a break then come over!

the staging and visuals are amazing. she is cold and not interacting with her audience at all (during this particular stop of the tour).

Yeah, I was pleased the ground was in good condition....the chip-bark did the trick and we were even able to pile it into a little mound to stand on and get a better view! biggrin

Thought it was a great show, sound was really good where we were (was worried it would be rubbish outside)....only down point was the crowd. We were in general admission area, near the front of it and hardly anyone was dancing or singing....not that it stopped us! Thought Like A Virgin was a good rendition but it slowed the show too much and went on a bit too long. I'm Addicted was superb, and Express Yourself was a great to.

I was at the Hyde Park show and I can tell you that she sang live 100% of the show...being there you could hear her breathes inbetween words and she was off key a few times...there were some microphone effects put on for some songs, like "Revolver", but all totally live smile

Hot Tours: Madonna, Lady Gaga, Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson Tour

by Bob Allen | July 16, 2012 4:45 EDT

Though her album "MDNA" has been a relative disappointment since opening at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 359,000 sold in its first sales frame (75% of its total to date), continues to be one of the world's top touring draws.

The Material Girl tops Billboard's latest Hot Tours ranking with the first box office totals reported from her massive MDNA Tour that launched at the end of May. Ticket sales revenue from the first 11 venues on the tour schedule totaled $49.5 million from 417,448 sold tickets. The tour began in Israel on May 31 with a crowd of 33,457 in attendance for the first performance. The inaugural concert was held at Israel's largest football venue, Ramat Gan Stadium in Tel Aviv with revenue topping $4.3 million (US$). Following the tour opener in Israel, Madonna made her first concert appearance in the United Arab Emirates with a two-show stint at du Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on June 3 and 4. The Box office gross was $8 million (US$), tops among the 11 concert engagements included in this week's tally.

The MDNA Tour's European leg kicked off in Turkey on June 7 with a crowd of 47,789 in attendance at Türk Telekom Arena in Istanbul. Concerts followed in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi hosted the legendary pop star for two performances on June 20 and 21, and another two-show run was held at the O2 World arena in Berlin on June 28 and 30. When the European trek ends on August 21 in Nice, France, the tour will then cross the pond for its first U.S. performance. The North American leg will kick off in Philadelphia on August 28 and continue through late-November. A South American leg begins in Colombia on November 28 and will wrap on December 22 in Argentina.

Wouldn't you know... Lady Gaga ranks second among this week's top-grossing tours with $23.6 million in ticket sales revenue reported from Australia and New Zealand on the Born This Wall Ball's Oceania leg during June. The first venue was Vector Arena in Auckland with a three-show run grossing $3.6 million (US$). The New Zealand concerts on June 7, 8 and 10 drew a crowd of 34,367 for all three nights. The first of three Australian venues in this week's Hot Tours recap was Brisbane Entertainment Centre with a three-show run on June 13, 14 and 16. Four performances were held at Sydney's Allphones Arena on June 20, 21, 23 and 24, and a five-show run in Melbourne at Rod Laver Arena produced the top gross among all of the concerts reported during the past week: $8.1 million (US$) from 60,031 tickets sold for shows on June 27, 28, 30, July 1 and 3.

You can't really judge a concert from youtube, you have to be there to experience it.

But you can judge if the material presented is worth spending half your month's mortgage for a ticket lol

This looks like the most interesting Madonna tour since Reinvention but, that said, I don't think I'll part with the cash to see it. Same goes for Lady Gaga, by the way. There's just so much more to do with my hard earned cash.

There's a rumor about the Paris show that she will do some additional/different songs that aren't in the regular tour set list such as Love Spent, Beautiful Killer and Physical Attraction. She sang a part of Love Spent at one of the sound checks and said she was planning something special for Paris.
