I've just let go of all of that, I don't care about records, about films, about being on television or all that stuff because in my eyes that's for people who don't know where they're going. ~ George Harrison

I grew up on Bollywood as well as South Indian films and Indo-Caribbean music.

My favorite celebs are Rani Mukherjee, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Sridevi, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor, Prateik, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Anushka Sharma, and Farhan Akhtar.

I saw a movie starring Aishwarya Rai a few months ago, but don't remember the name. She was playing a businesswoman, who was involved with a prince. Do you know what it's called?

^^I've never understood stand up comedy. It's just someone talking, I don't get what's supposed to be funny, especially if it's just a lot of profanity.

I can watch a movie with them in it, but not stand up. I like movies like It's A Mad Mad Mad World, that's funny to me. I never watch or listen to stand up. If I watch a talk show like Jay Leno, I don't pay any attention to the monologue. I just turn it on it there's a guest on there I like.

Last night I started watching "Love Aaj Kal". There's a gorgeous song at the beginning, love the guys voice.

Got 5 minutes into the actual movie and my sister and I were like "wtf is going on?". Subtitles were not helping at all. So I went to bed smile but I love the richness of Indian music.

Done is better than perfect.

I love it, but also love to hate it when it's convenient lol don't get mad, I can poke fun at my background, and knew Russell's shit jokes before we knew he existed.

Anyways, let's play a guessing game, what's this?

LOVE Bollywood.
My first introduction and curation of this music (and dancing!) was from an Indian-Canadian friend in college. There was a Bollywood film series on campus and I went with her. By the third movie, I was like, are all of these going to be musicals? Even in the "non-musicals," they sang an awful lot, and there were Thriller-like dance sequences. I went with her to a cultural night on campus too, dancing, music and poetry readings from the Indian students.
Loved it ever since.
Btw, has anyone seen "Slumdog Millionaire"? Heartbreakingly beautiful film, and the music's good too.
