Don't forget Prince masturbating with his guitar, sorry that was perfectly acceptable, because he's a man.

Prince did this at 53?

While I wouldn't call it masurbating per se, he was a little scandalous with his guitar at age 48 when he played the Super Bowl. For whatever reason only a small fuss was made about it but had that been Madonna making an illusion of her "stroking" her guitar at the Super Bowl, it would've been a national crisis. lol

What tour did she open with a strip tease?? Are you referring to this incident? I'd hardly call it a strip tease. More like a "flashing". That's what I mean, she flashes a tit at a show and all of a sudden everything else she does in that show is diminished and she's a "stripper". It's just a little irrational and sexist. Are Usher, Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop, Prince etc etc etc etc reductive strippers when they tease/entice their audiences by removing their shirts?

Have you not seen The Girlie Show??

I have seen it. Are you referring to Carrie Ann Inaba coming down the pole topless? If so, I don't think it's fair to reduce Madonna herself down to a stripper because of that nor Carrie Ann for that matter. The only other thing I can think of at the opening is when Madonna removes the blindfold and over shirt/vest thing and reveals the sparkly "bra". She doesn't reveal anything though, she has shorts and boots practically to her knees on and the "bra" she's wearing had a real bra on underneath so even if the costume would've fallen off there still wouldn't have been any boob showing.

Different situations, not exactly comparable.

I think they are. A man does sexual things on stage but doesn't get consider slutty or a stripper, a woman does sexual things on stage and is apparently a stripper for doing it

I saw Gladys Knight in 2010 one of the Pips was there, he took over the show for about 20 min he girated, did some grinding and his piece seriously sexually charge the ladys

this guy has to be in his upper 70s

If it were so normal and common, then why does it get the reaction it does? Because it's Madonna? Younger girls flop their tits out all the time and they don't receive this kind of flak (funnily Madonna did tho when she was younger). IDK....maybe it's just something to do with her in particular. Courtney Love tends to get a pass for everything because she's fucking nuts and she's seen as a "rock star" whereas Madonna is seen as a "pop star" who should have limits.

You act as if Madonna's "dance" background was rooted in some grungy tittie bar in Brooklyn or something. The bitch has been studying dance intensely since she was a child, earned a dance scholarship to Uni Michigan and was with Alvin Ailey dance troupe so her credentials are a little more than your typical tittie bar dancer.

What makes me yawn is seeing (yet again) a man reducing a woman to "stripper" status because she showed a tit at the spur of the moment at a show. How predictable.

Actually, people always - ALWAYS go into a whirlwind tizzy when someone's body parts fall out of their clothes (either on purpose or in a malfunctioning wardrobe). It's not just Madonna because only a small subsect of people actually give 2 flips about this "incident"... It's being ginned up by the internet, but the real world hasn't given it a 2nd thought. Cuz no one cares. "Lol Madonna" is the extent of it.

And I don't need to reduce her to stripper status. She did that when she opened a worldwide tour WITH A STRIP TEASE.

I don't think Carrie Ann in the Girlie Show can be reduced to 'stripper status'

Plus working the pole is a part of culture, they even have excersize videos using poles

the pole couples even have in their bedrooms

I know u know this, but the Girlie Show was meant to have an exhibitionist/Carnival/sideshow feel, the Carrie Ann working that pole was ARTISTic lol

Tuls101, I think the Little Monster is talking about the "Fever" number on the Girlie Show..a halfway through strip-tease wink

The Girlie Show is my favorite Madonna tour of all time. To me, its her best tour and (2nd only to Blonde Ambition) is one of her most well-executed performances as a whole.

I LOVE the intro. But it's a pole dance. She's singing "Erotica" which is specifically about fucking. The whole album and era was about that. Artistic? Hmm. That's definitely a respectable opinion, I suppose, but that does not mean she is not a stripper-esque in the performance.

The point is that Madonna has been dancing erotically (since no one likes "stripper") since 1982 at the very least. No one cares but her hardcore fans about this stupid nipplegate shit. It's not even remotely close to Janet's nipplegate and not even as interesting as Britney/Paris/Lindsay flashing their roastbeef curtains.

It seems that the Org creates a bit of a bubble for people because outside of the internet (which is the majority of life), no one gives a fuck about this incident.

Okay now I get where your coming from. Just remember that there's a difference between dances erotically and being a stripper

the Girlie Show is my favorite as well, she needs to bring Christopher back and Nikki & Donna, she's missing those elements in her shows since after Ray of light

Yes, It's a pole dance but that is very different from being a stripper. Madonna wanted a 'exotic show' and from pole dancing burlesque and belly dancing it's all in the same vein to me. a Stripper is something a lot different for me.

The show starts with the carnival/circus music and a clown introducing the show, then features an exotic women on the pole, who wasn't Madonna, and she didn't strip. And Madonna wasn't singing Erotica while Carrie Ann was on the pole, it was all introductions.

Erotica, isn't about fucking, it's about S&M which is something more complex, sex doesn't always take place in an S&M scene or situation. I'm a Dom, lol I know, its more about the mind than the orgasm that doesn't always take place.

Erotica era yes Sex but it was more than that, it was about attitude, it was about AIDS, it was about fantasy & taboo, vanilla & kink, I love that era but she did a very artistic job of presenting things people wished someone brought out in the open and other who hoped no one ever spoke of in public.

Yes, erotic dancing like Prince has in his shows, I wouldn't call him a stripper even though he takes his clothes off.

Actually the hardcore fans don't have a problem with it, as you can read through this thread it's the people that seem to hate her that care so much

True the internet is a big part of like, so we really can't say "outside the internet no one cares" since it's all over the internet and people have opinions outside the org

Why do old people get punished for being sexual? Why is it "desperate" to do what one wants? She's obviously provoking you enough to comment, so it works, if your assumptions are correct that she's trying to get something (attention?) for the act. Bah, she doesn't need it. She's just pushing the cultural edge again that says old people (i.e. WOMEN) should go live in a box and never come out.

And who says 53 is that damn old anyway?

Old people have sexuality and old people are sexy!

Look at yourselves trying to shame a woman for being herself, being free, not caring what juice y'all drink. I'll take her side and her life any day. Life is too short to hate.

Damn, you've said in a nut shell what I think. Why is someone, especially a woman, punished for being the person they've always been. People need to check themselves in this sexist age-ist society, among other social dysfunctions... razz lol
