They fell off hard. lol I still shake my head at how Keyshia fell but I guess with her limited abilities it was expected. lol

It's true lol I used to like her but when she left the show to her mother and sister she flopped.

Chile... ohgoon When my peers were raving and rocking Keyshia's music, all I could do was shake my head. Her ass sounded like shit to me, live AND on wax. lol Women were like "she singing the TRUTH!" falloff I was like umm okay. Then I remember when folks were comparing her to Mary J. Blige and shit. disbelief I'm not surprised at all at how Keyshia fell so quickly off the radar. She really wasn't that great to begin with.

I agree with Babybugz too, the "urban" artists from the late 00's have all pretty much faded. lol Where the hell is that non-talented Keri Hilson at? She was all the rage a few years ago too.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

One thing i never do is listen to other artists and their opinions especially when they have no clue what they are commenting on. I cant take the Dream serious because he probably never even saw MJ live, plus a guy who has no clue on the LIVE show, needs to go watch videos of live shows. NOW that said Beyonce i will say is a good performer works her ass off on that stage etc...HOWEVER running around jumping screaming doesnt always mean you are a great performer, i like her, but musically she bores the shit out of me because i cant seperate her songs, her fast stuff all sounds the same and her ballads are all one long song, her style of singing is the same in every song, so she is boring overall. Eye candy but not ear candy

To be honest, I think it was how they were marketed... Gaga came out around the time they came out and wasnt that big but with her second album she became big because how she was marketed.

I dont think talent is factor so much in why they are irrelevant now more so with how they were marketed which is why Gaga, Beyonce and Bieber are so successful because their constantly in our faces.

If Janelle Monae had been marketed properly when ArchAndroid came out she would be huge right now even bigger than Beyonce or Gaga, shes a much better performer and makes better music.

Marketing was one of the reasons but I think it also had to do with the music changing. Late 2008 into 2009 Pop became more dominate again with Gaga and then Katy , Rihanna , Bieber etc. Those artists didn’t fit that style. Hip Hop is barely hanging on as well. I think Mainstream R&B will be in the front again but the right artist has to spice it up.

This is my question: why are folks constantly comparing stuff to Michael Jackson? confused Folks lose all credibility when they do that.

It's a great association if even briefly while the public reads it, like when every white male group is compared to The Beatles.

Yea I agree. There are obvious alot of other reasons as well but I think marketing is the biggest thing but your right about the music thing to. Usher is a prime example of this... He switched up real quick. It seems R&B might be making a come back... I hope D angelo can bring it up... You said that Miguel had switched up his music. The only songs Ive heard was from his debut album.. Did he come out with another album? Are there some songs you can recommend? Because that Hickey song was dumb as hell... Sure Thing was a nice summer cut Im not gonna lie but still not that impress with that cat.

Folks should be shot dead mentioning Michael Jackson in the SAME sentence with ANY of these artists out now...

OKAY maybe that was a bit harsh lol

but thats the seriousness of this situation. These people throw Michael around in these comparisions like his talent/accomplishment is easily matched. Every other week someone is comparing some wack ass overrated artist to him.

Its so sad how they try to water down Michaels brillance. Im tired of the hollywood bullshit. Glad people dont feed into this mess

Usher jumped ship didn’t he? lol (I don’t blame him tbh) He did still have some decent cuts on his later albums that weren’t released but the singles are another story. confused . As far as Miguel the Art Dealer Chic volumes are his best work.

My favorites are in bold.

Art Dealer Chic: Vol.1

That I Do (FTRMX)

Gravity

Adorn

Art Dealer Chic: Vol.2

All

Broads

Arch N Point

Art Dealer Chic: Vol.3

Party Life

Ooh Ahh

Candles In The Sun, Blowin' In The Wind

This a mixtape?? Cause the other songs dont sound like these.. Im feeling these exactly, I checked your favorites first lol... Im lovin Gravity... got that smooth R&B vibe..

I like Party Life and I also appreciate they all dont sound the same. Im still not crazy about the songs though but I think he offers more variety compared to whats out now and its not to poppish, but then some kinda are.

Dude needs to release Gravity thats a NICE CUT!

Beyonce is excellent to me, however, the "best performer since Michael Jackson" hasn't arrived yet. That person is still unknown.
