The OTT bitterness, resentment, cynicism and suspicion constantly levied at Beyoncé here is totally ridiculous. Seriously, you know what it reminds me of? High school. Beyoncé is that uber-popular, uber-congenial, uber-pretty girl who is both home coming queen and head of student council; the teachers/administration openly praise her for being so well put together and a good student, while the boys salivate over her looks and fight for her attention – causing the underachieving/homely girls to openly resent her because they're not THAT and don't get the same kind of praise. So then they recruit the other cynical Plain Jane/C-average students (as well as the awkward gay boys who're jealous because she's attracting the guys they have secret crushes on) to join in on heckling, looking for any imperfection to magnify and being generally nasty towards her out of pure spite. I guess that's easier than losing weight, studying and learning how to socialize.

So childish.

People Magazine calling Beyoncé the most beautiful woman in the world is no more or less ridiculous than their calling Bradley Cooper the sexiest man alive. This is what they do, they pick golden, dainty, overly photogenic celebrities to give those titles to for the sake of selling magazines…and the ONLY people who bother to get upset over who it is are those who're jealous of that persons fame or notoriety. The ones who don't care don't care.

And for the record, Beyoncé IS beautiful -- hell, she's more than beautiful; she can be downright stunning. To dismiss her looks and to actually claim that she's not that good looking is pretty much a lie, and you know it. On the surface, she's the woman every heterosexual man wants to ultimately marry and have kids with. razz Furthermore, I challenge anyone who is Google searching 'Beyonce, no make-up' and posting all the 'average' pictures of her that they can find to condescend People's decision to put her on the cover to also post pictures of themselves next to these 'bad' pictures of her so that their looks can be compared. I bet that would be an eye-opening experienece.

Dear 'People': Did You Have to Make Beyoncé Look White?

Dear 'People': Did You Have to Make Beyoncé Look White?
People

Writing for Clutch magazine, Britni Danielle takes serious issue with People's Most Beautiful Woman looking "seriously pale" in her photos for the magazine.

Whether you think Beyonce is black or not (I’ve never debated this, to me, she’s black), when the world sees her…they see a black woman–topping the charts, strolling through NYC with her baby, and cuddling up to her husband and enjoying the game. But the People mag photos have seemed to taking out one of her key elements: her color.

I’m not sure what they were thinking (perhaps selling more covers?), but not only does this particular picture of Bey look amazing pale (yes, she’s light-skinned, but she has color, c’mon), but her lips look awkward (non-existent?) and the picture they chose just makes her look…odd.

What’s not in doubt is that Beyonce is a beautiful woman; she’s an absolute stunner. Hailing her as “the most beautiful woman in the world” and then making her look very, very strange doesn’t seem like much of an honor to me. Bey deserved better than a picture that did little to tout her beauty.

Read Britni Danielle's entire piece at Clutch magazine.

Oh god. Didn't ?uestlove spew out the same garbage when he had the audacity to compare Bey's success to that of MJ's? Like is that you guys really think? Some people are just haters. Some people just geniunely don't think she's that pretty. Some people, like yourselves, are just some serious stans.

Why do you care? You think she's beautiful. The editors thinks she's beautiful. That's really all that matters. What should be the more serious case is the fact that the sheer prejudice that goes on in the art departments when they force designers and the whatnot to make her pictures lighter so that she can 'not look so black' and appeal to the 'mainstream.' It's fucking sickening and very racist imho.

First off, I HAVE MISSED YOU... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??? lol and GREAT POST

God knows Ive tried my hardest to avoid commenting in this thread ...... lol because I'm really beating a dead horse with the subject matter.

But what folks fail to realize is their is a much BIGGER issue than arguing how beautiful allegedly Beyonce is with those images and just how she is portrayed in the media.

Personally, like Ive expressed before, there are millions of African American women that are naturally more beautiful not to mention JUST REGULAR WOMEN in general than Beyonce they just cant afford a thousand dollars for weave, makup artist, or stylists like she can and to be honest could less for all of that. The photos that folks have posted clearly shows Beyonce is attractive but very average looking as in you can find a million girls that look like her and million girls that look better than her. There is nothing uniquely stunning about her facial features (without makeup) and I find it rather childish how people are bashing people who dont find her ALL that attractive... Everyone is entitled to THEIR opinion and not everyone is going to feel the same way about everything or has to. Ive read through this thread and pretty much the folks that disagree with the article have made rational statements that are techincally true.

Technically beauty should be based on what you look like WITHOUT makeup but if that is the case everyone who wears makeup deserves to be the most beautiful women in the world since alot of posters seem to not take how women looks naturally in high regard which really is the true determination in how beautiful a woman really is... not what they look like WITH enhancements as the article is suggesting but then again most of these posters in here are stans with this stupid ass posts

Also, people saying bullshit like their happy that they finally put a black women on the cover for most beautiful but Beyonce doesnt even consider herself to be black lol

So why should I feel proud of that as a black woman, when she herself doesnt even identify herself as being African American???? She said she was crayola I mean "Creole" when the reality is both her parents are BLACK. disbelief So all her photoshopped lighter photos dont surprise me because Beyonce allows the shit to proceed because you can bet she saw these photos before they were released.

Gabrielle Union just did a movie with Tyler Perry.. she is a more deserving candidate and a better representation of NATURAL "African American beauty" to be on the front cover not no alternate European brainwash photoshop bullshit...

Why did they ask her????

Oh because she is dark skin and she appears to look to Nig***ish for the White people O thats right so they put Beyonce on the cover to stay safe and then want to feed me bullshit that their trying to be multicultural when Beyonce looks like a white woman on fuckin the cover disbelief

I CANT STAND THAT RACIST BULLSHIT and CANT STAND the black people who go along with it

Yall sit up here and complain about how blacks are depicted in the media but are the ones that add to the stupid shit. This thread is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of this. Look how yall acting and carrying on. This shit is just going to continue to poison how black people are depicted in European society

Stand, you`ve been sitting much too long, there`s a permanent crease in your right or wrong.~Sly Stone

They've been lightening Bey's skin since day one. Some say she physically lightens her skin, but she doesn't it's only in pictures. Light/fair skin will always be on TV, magazines, bilboards, etc. Why do you think Billie Holiday got more mainstream attention than Ella Fizgerald? Billie was light skinned, so white audiences were more accepting of her. Sad, but this is Amerikkka.

Definitely agree with this especially the relatable part. That is probably one of the main reasons why she has so many female fans, IMHO.
