Record Store Day is actually happening in other countries of the world too, though you wouldn't think it with this thread.

There are a few discs that I am after, but like last year i'll be happy to pick up the Bat For Lashes 7inch and the Kate Bush platters.

I was lucky last year and picked up two copies of the pink vinyl Kate Bush 10inch, I sold one on ebay for almost 15 times the amount I paid for it, people were going nuts over them.

That's a good thing about ebay, if there are any records you can't find on the day, just wait a few days and they will more than likely end up on ebay. There were literally hundreds of them last year, and some fantastic bargains too.

I will definitely be going! There are a couple smallish record stores in the DC area that participate, but I wish we had some better options. Ah well.

Unfortunately i'm underwhelmed by the list this year. The best items are the 4 color vinyl reissues from The Cure but they are UK only...grrrrrr....

I'm sorry RSD falls on a Saturday, I got to deal with all these no driven' ass people in the city and finding a parking space.

Well no... I'm looking for the 45' RPM instrumental version of The Sylvers - "Stay Awaw From Me". I owned it for damn near 30 years and it's disappeared. I"m looking for the Sylvers IV album they did with their mother for Pride. Oh, I'm kinda looking for Billy Idol's Cyberpunk on floppy... my chances are slim. Well damn, I've went from not looking for anything to a list. It's your fault.

make that list and head out on Saturday....it'll be fun I'm gonna make a list too.

Despite joining the queue waaay after it satrted (apparently some cats were waiting from midnight, and there was already a line right around the block at 7am), I managed to get nearly everything I wanted. The Bowie and T-Rex singles were gone, but this was a good result.

So, what did y'all blow your cas... errrr 'invest' in today?

I just bought a couple from egay as the capital city of Scotland has a pathetic indie record shop count.

As I thought though, there is a plethora of Kate Bush 10inchers on fleabay for stupid amounts of cash, so i'll wait till the dust settles and grab one then.

I really wanted the "Pretty in Pink" soundtrack but I didn't get up early enough apparently, by the time I got to the first store pretty much everything was gone.
