As many of us predicted......

Move Over, Tupac—Michael Jackson Hologram Could "Absolutely" Go On Tour With His Brothers

Marc Malkin, eonline

If the late Tupac Shakur could put on a show , so could Michael Jackson.

Yes, a hologram of the King of Pop may be going on tour…

The late music legend's brothers Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon just announced that they are joining together for Unity Tour 2012, a 27-city jaunt that kicks off June 18 in Louisville.

It marks the first time they've toured together since the Victory Tour in 1984.

"I just wish Michael was here with us, but I'm sure his spirit will be in the house," Jackie exclusively told me this morning.

And he may be with them afterall. Jackie said a Michael hologram could very well be part of a bigger tour they're planning for next year after they release a new album with their recently reunited record label Motown.

"It could have Michael—absolutely," he said. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show."

The brothers are still working on the set list for Unity. "There are so many songs," Jackie said.

"That's the hardest part because we want to include all the favorites and not leave anything out.

We're going to sing some of Michael's stuff, too. We're going to honor him on the stage. He'd want us to do our thing to the best of our ability."

Now we want to hear from you. Do you want to see a hologram Michael Jackson performance? Let us know in the comments below.

You know they had thought of bringing Michael some kind of way. lol It wouldn't surprise me if they actually post old footage of Michael and impose it as if he's on the stage again like they did Elvis one time...

Dr Dre on Holograms: ''Hopefully We Can Bring Back Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix'' eek

April 20, 2012

Dr. Dre has spoken of his pride at bringing the hologram of Tupac into the public eye and has said he hopes the likes of Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix can also be resurrected.

Speaking to MTV News about the reaction to the hologram's appearance, Dre said he believed "everybody was in love" with the hologram and said that he hopes other iconic artists can also be resurrected in this manner.

Speaking about this, Dre said: "I think everybody's in love with it right now, so we're having fun. Hopefully, different artists are able to bring out their favourite artists. Hopefully, we can see Jimi Hendrix and Marvin Gaye. Let's see what happens."

Dre also revealed that he plans to continue to work on holograms and hopes they will eventually be able to be presented in 360 degrees.

He added: "I'm not sure right now, there's a technology that's happening where the hologram could be 360 degrees. Right now it's flat, it just looks like it's three-dimensional from the front, but I'm working on some new and different things for the future."

Speaking to NME earlier this week, the boffins behind the Tupac hologram have said it'd "make sense" to take the likeness of the late rapper on tour.

Holographic projection firm Musion hinted that its creation could end up going around the world after making its debut in California on Sunday (April 15). This follows reports earlier today that Dre and Snoop are keen on the idea of a tour with the hologram.

Head of Music at Musion Sanj Surati said that although no firm plans are yet in place for a tour, the huge response to the hologram would make it difficult to ignore the option to use it again.

He commented: "This is obviously a historic and exciting initiative that we're all witnessing currently, and it would make sense for them to bring it to Europe and maybe take it to the rest of the world."

I just remembered American Idol did this about 5 years ago with Elvis. It was the scariest shit I've EVER seen.

Elvis wtf?

And I really hope this doesn't start a trend, sure it works for some acts like Tupac and maybe Kurt Cobain as a one off thing but what happens when they try to recreate the genius of Hendrix or Micheal Jackson? It seems disrespectful to their legacies, and not even in that endearing Elvis impersonator way.

What's next? eek

Since we are tired of walking into a store and not getting help, are we going to have hologram employees?? eek (if the holograms can be programmed to answer all of my questions and provide "old school" friendly customer service, i may be up for that) lol

Hologram cashiers? eek

Walk into a resturant - Hologram Hostesses?? eek

We are moving into too fast people...........slow down~!!!! eek

Lonely? How about "Hologram Henry and Hologram Hollie?" lol Add more and have a party!!

Find out what it like to be married for 20 years instantly, with "Hologram Hell-en"!!! lol

Give DNA a couple more years and we wont need Holograms to enjoy dead singers.

To be honest I think its very disrespectful to ALL of them. The 2pac hologram was nice for what it was but making a hologram a tour is taking it to the extreme. It is very disrespectful to make pretend a false image and then charge people millions of dollars to see it. We all hate to see icons and fantastic legends pass but you have to let the best rest because recreating an illusion is false and disrespectful to what they would have wanted "artistically".

I have to be honest and admit that I'm actually cool with the Jacksons doing the hologram Michael thing because when I first heard about the tour, I swear, I was worried that if ticket sales weren't up, Jermaine and/or Joe's ass would have tried robbing the crypt and dragging Michael's bones up on stage or some shit. falloff

I know. I know. It is just terrible that I could even think some morbid shit like that but the thought did cross my mind and I just bet it wasn't only my mind either. 'Fess up! evillol
