U people don't have any clue what raw talent is. Not many can dance & sing like Chris. Even MJ gave him props when he was still here & his daughter is in awe of him. She was in the front row when he performed here in La months ago. But how can i expect anything from clueless people.

Please leave Michael out of this. Michael never criticised anyone, including fellow artists. No one really knows what he really thought about about Chris "Woman-Beating" Brown.

Paris could also be in awe of Justin Bieber, but that doesn't mean we have to hail that boy as the second coming of her father.

I love Brandy, but I cannot stand Chris Brown and "sex music" in general. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed by the lyrics based on the title "Put It Down". Ugh. I hope Brandy surprises me and the song isn't so predictable. I want to like it.

Just because MJ complimented him in no way justifies his talent. Michael also complimented T pain and Akon...eek

Um, Brandy has NEVER did "what's relevant". Have u ever listened to her albums?? What sets her catalog apart from someone like Monica, is that Brandy actually takes risks and tries different things.

You sure about that? She used to always work with the 'producer of the moment'. When Babyface was big, she worked with him; when everybody was all over Jerkins, she worked with him...

I'm not saying this either to attack or defend Brandy; I have no horse in this race. I'm saying strictly that any comments about a disinterest in relevance, aren't true.

I think you're confused. Brandy worked with Babyface for one track on Waiting for Exhale (and Face produced that whole album, so it's not like she commissioned him to work with her). As far as Jerkins goes, it's more appropriate to say that Never Say Never helped make him a hot producer. Before '98 he was mostly known as a remixer outside of a few singles (like the fantastic "I Can Love You") and album tracks here and there (like on One in a Million). After all, "The Boy Is Mine" was his first R&B and Hot 100 #1 hit. A lot of Full Moon was done with her ex-husband. By the time they did Human, Darkchild was no longer hot.

Afrodisiac with Timbaland supports your argument, but her other 4 albums don't. I wouldn't call that "always" by any stretch.

U right on most but wrong on another thing...Yes Brandy is the one that made Rodney a in demand producer. She made his sound hot. But Brandy got very pissy when Rodney started working with other artist like Toni B. She felt he was giving their sound away. i guess she wanted to establish a bond & sound like Janet had with JJ&TL. They had a big falling out. That is why she is no longer working with him now.

At that time Brandy could be a major Bi-c-. Her ex boyfriend not husband & best friend to Rodney Robert Smith said. She lied about being married to him to save her goody goody image.Because she had gotten knocked up by him. In fact the way he put it. She wasn't even his girlfriend he already had one! She was just a booty call to him & nothing more.biggrin

Brandy had went as far as going on Oprah & straight lying to her face about being married. In the end she ended up being banned from Oprah. Oprah doesn't play. That whole fiasco took a big hit on Brandy's goody goody image. She was looked at as a liar & a slut. But now she is just one hit away from a comeback. Just like CB.

Brandy was looking fly in a fringe skirt yesterday while greeting fans outside of ‘Live with Kelly’ for yet another promo appearance. Although Bran and Monica have been attached to the hip while promoting their new single, ‘It All Belongs To Me’, Brandy is gearing up to release her first official single off of her upcoming album, ‘Two Eleven’.

The single is titled ‘Put It Down’ and it’s featuring Chris Breezy!

Just last week, fans of both artists suspected they were in the studio together when Chris tweeted, ‘Brandy is the best female vocalist to me!!!!’ followed by an exchange from Brandy with Se7en from Rich Girlz about just finishing up a song. Now, in an interview with True Exclusives, Brandy dished the tea on the new single while indirectly confirming that Chris Brown is on the track. She also confirmed that it will be released in the next two weeks before her VH1 Behind The Music special which airs on April 19th.

I don’t have a specific date. It’s definitely going to be in two weeks for sure, a little before [behind the music] or simultaneously.

The thing we are working out now is that the single has a feature. It’s both a rapper and singer. Male. But I can say that I was just at my record company the other day and my partner played the updated version of the single with the feature and they are so excited about it. They want it to go to radio like this Friday. That’s how excited they are but the timing is kind of shaky for Friday but that’s how fast they are ready to go.

It’s uptempo. It’s really different. It’s very very different. It’s called ‘Put It Down’.

When asked what it was like to work with Chris who called her the best singer afterward, she replied:

Brandy also semi-confirmed that her album has been pushed back to July by just bursting into a ‘how did you know that’ giggle when asked about it. Fans may be a little disappointed by that.

Meanwhile, Monica tweeted her support for Brandy’s new single today after she heard it for the first time:

just heard @4everbrandy single AMAZING, feature HOT, beat BANGING…undeniable smash…. Congrats Bran❤❤❤❤

I'm happy Brandy is back. She has been through a lot & has become under rated. But anything to to take over her family business from Ray J who is over rated...Also glad she is singing with CB he is the man. U can't deny his talent. U are always one hit away from being on top again. No matter what happens to U..Brandy will be back on top just like CB....

Check the interview below:

Brandy is a gorgeous and talented woman, and her face looks fantastic in this pic. But the look on her face screams uncomfortable in this gimicky get-up to me. The look seems innapropriately young and even the belt wants to unfasten itself and set her free. The skirt is too short by two to three inches at least, and the hair too long by the same length. Working with Chris Brown seems crazy to me; her musical talent dwarfs his. All of these seem like trendy and desperate choices made by a "team" for Brandy. But these choices are hard to get around in today's marketplace. I love Brandy and wish she could pull something of a Glady Knight and rest on her talent and laurels while waiting for the business to find it's mind again - peform live at select moments and venues, get back on TV or movies, execute smaller tours...

All referances to Chris Brown these days have to do with "he is hot" and the like, never what a great singer or writer or thinker he is. He can dance his face off, I'll give you that, and I think he has deserves the opportunity to move forward toward prosperity, and to recover from his treatment of Rhianna. If Charlie Sheen, etc., are given this chance, why not CB? I hope their song works out fer her.

well i agree on all those points you mention, and i will also say like someone said before about Chris Brown having talent, i give him that, but your talent cant hide how ignornant you are as a person, and too bad that we live in a world now where you are responsible for your ignorance, i mean im sure if twitter existed back in the day alot of artists would have gotten shit. Thing is im really big on Brandy, never really dug her music in the 90's and not being into chris brown, this just seems like a morphing of two decades of rb that i didnt dig at all. So i dont dimsiss the talent, i mean Mariah Carey is talented but her albums are awful, so its not always your talent its what u do with it.

Best Friend came on at the restaurant while I was in the buffet line on Easter Sunday, me and two ladies were trying to balance our plates, bust a move, and get some of that delicous Paella. It was a blessed moment, a small blessing, but a blessing none the less. I confess as I get older I my nostalgia for great things like Best Friend wins out over opening my mind to newer things that just don't seem to muster up.

Actually, she and Rodney were like Janet and Jim & Terry. She had a great creative relationship with Jerkins. Then I think TImbaland did a great job with Afrodesiac.

Unfortunately- she wasn't able to recapture the magic she had with Rodney- they fell out when he started working with a lot of other people. But, she was kinda put his sound on the map.
