She just recorded some music with him.. the whole world isn't going to shun Chris Brown forever just because he did something bad in the past.. listening to his music and/or recording music with him doesn't mean you approve of everything/anything he did in his past.

[Edited 3/15/12 18:45pm]

The whole world does not have to shun Chris Brown forever and he shouldnt be shunned forever. However, it hasnt even been 5 years since the incident happened. It occured in 09. Also, the fact that she wanted to collab with him for commercial reasons says it all right there. Shess thinkng about money and not her fans or the impression it might give them. If she REALLY care I highly doubt she would have ran to CB for a duet. It seems a bit hyprocritical and opportunistic.

sigh Yes this girl is a clueless idiot, but she was already that before she got into it with Chris. rolleyes Out of the whole aricle, it irritates me that they said he "brutalized" her...umm they brutalized each other. Not just with fists, but with the whole damn relationship. As far as I'm concerned, he's just as dumb as she is for agreeing to record with her. I'm sure he still tappin' dat ass.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

How about people have a right to their opinions and if Rihanna while she doesnt know any of us wants to get the stupid label tag off her head she should start making better decisions the SAME as Chris Brown...

They have fans that are as young as 10 YEARS OLD.... C'mon now.....neutral

Im not suggesting she act like Mother Teresa because she has young fans but she should make wiser decisions that takes them into consideration if she REALLY cares about her fans its OBVIOUS she doesnt. These artists today do not give a shit about their fans at all... If they exactly sat their non talented asses down some where and exactly wrote a song and good sing a note they might be more appreciative... I guess I wouldnt care either if I got alot of money and it was just solely for my looks.... ungrateful bitch.

I dont make the rules and I dont think she should be a role model either but say that same thing to the YOUNG PEOPLE that LOOK UP to her...ALSO say that to the MEDIA... Rihanna isnt the only one that has been deemed as a "role model"

I dont think the MEDIA should decide that... but their are alot of PEOPLE/Young fans that do look up to her and based on her decisions its obvious she doesnt care about the impression it gives.... In reality she doesnt have to she can do what she wants.... but just the dumb shit that she says is not a good look at all... like the reason why she wanted to work with CB.. WTF? eek

I dont give a fuck about Rihanna

I dont give a fuck about Chris Brown

I dont give a fuck about the whole thing really lol and what they do or the dumb shit they say... IM JUST GIVING MY opinion on the article

It IS her prerogative and its MY prerogative to give MY OPINION... that might very well be true. Rihanna might just want to work with CB because his "hot" right now but I personally think their is an agenda behind that collaboration.

There are alot of hot acts out right now besides Chris Brown. Rihanna KNOWS the hype and publicity a song would get or a collaboration with Chris Brown would get because of that infamous incident OR at least HER LABEL does...

Dont be naive thats all Im saying...

Young fans aside, Rihanna is going to do what she wants to and obviously by her actions she doesnt care about the impression her actions might have on her fans so technically she isnt being a role model at all... she is just going after money... I dont think she HAS TO BE but she could make wiser choices I think or at least have mature explanations for her actions because of the position she is in but based of her comments and behavior she doesnt see that mature at all to be able to tell the difference.

At the end of the day its with the PARENTS lol Talk to ya kids or just dont let them listen to the radio or watch BET/MTV/VH1 etc...

I am SO TIRED of people using the term hating..mad

IM GIVING MY OPINION ON THE ARTICLE.... PERIOD.. Its not in favor of Rihanna... fine call me a hater so be it... Its beyond childish to insist someone is a hater just because they express objective criticism on something. Im not bashing her for the sake of it and my arguement is very reasonable and rational if that is how you desrcibe a hater or someone who loves to hate so be it neutral ... but its not good logic at all people have opinions some in good light and some criticism... I probably was stretching it by calling her a bitch that was uncalled for... just finish taking a Statistics exam lol and still heated so yea but besides that my post was pretty rational and not immature.

That damn if you do damn if dont logic can go for ANYTHING... And people responding in this thread doesnt mean they really care... this is a thread being posted for discussion which is all it is... There are plenty of artist threads I give my opinion on that I really could care less than a fuck about but this is a message board and that is the whole point of it. To talk about music, post topics and give posts/opinions on threads, etc

People giving their objective criticism on the article doesnt mean their whole world is going to come to an end because Rihanna did a song with CB etc... I dont give a fuck what Rihanna does but thats not going to stop me from expressing my 2cents on the article either or how her actions MIGHT affect a fan or give off an impression whether she is technically a role model or not.

To be honest, Im tired of these Rihanna, Katy, Beyawnce threads... its the SAME shit and the opinions go on and on in circles...

I also wasnt directly talking to you when I said " Dont be naive thats all Im saying" I was speaking in general terms for anybody paying attention to her motives as to why she worked with Chris Brown

It's dumb. I agree.

But it's her own live and her own decisions....

So if she wants to be with him.. than it's own choice.. not saying it's good.. because it's dumb.. but still..

She's an adult, so she can make her own decisions... even though this is not a good decisions, imo. neutral

Your right but in between the sly remarks their is some objectivity and not everyone has came in here and has been disrespectful.... I do think we should be more respectful in the responces..

For the record, Rihanna does act like a bitch even if she really isnt... she definitly gives off the impression that she is based on her over the top tweet comments, comments in general and just how she acts towards her fans... I'm not saying that justifies the comments above but just saying Rihanna isnt an angel either.

Again. Totally irrelevant. She doesn't live her life for 10 year olds. Those should look to their parents, if they are in need of anyone to look up to!

As for Rihanna working with Brown, the main thing that's disgusting is, that she supposedly does it only for business reasons, not because she wants to work/be with him. She shows she would work with the devil, just to get a hit. That's what makes me shake my head. The "no integrity" part.

As for what happened between them.... people make mistakes, people can change, even if some of you don't want to admit that. It's been 3 years, as far as I know, there have been no news of him beating any girl up.

Yea thats the part that stuck out for me the most....

And I am not suggesting Rihanna should be someones mother and tell someone elses child how to be a young girl etc but I think its relevant in the fact that someone does look up to her... Rihanna is obviously going to do what the hell she wants, WE KNOW that and she has made that evident... but thats not stopping someone else from calling her their idol or role model thats ALL Im saying... its no getting around that fact whether she considers herself to be a role model or not to ALOT people she is considered as such.

I also think people dwell on the Chris brown fiasco bit as well, he apologized and people should move on but Im not really focusing on CB's part more so Rihanna in this aspect since the article was on her.

I also think Rihanna worked with CB because of the publicity it would get from their past relationship which she underlined in that comment but didnt openly state. She did it for marketing/money reasons and that was definitly one of them as well in the agenda. I think because if it wasnt she would not have done it in fear of backlash... She knew it would be controversial...

Yeah I definitely agree they are repeating the patterns of abuse they grew up around, but Rihanna is living a different lifestyle from her mom, so maybe the problem is the kind of advisers she has around her, but I've seen her in other interviews, and she really isn't the brightest crayon in the box to begin with personality wise though she has great style and I like some of her music. Though I don't mind people who like to do what they want, she needs to realize she's a role model whether she wants to be or not, and it makes me wonder why she doesn't think about these things though I understand she's very young too. I guess she's conflicted between her own needs and pleasing others, plus she has mentioned that where she grew up, no one went to counselling to solve problems and they handled their own business.... and I agree she's rude, I've seen her behaviour on twitter and was really put off by how she talks to fans, but that doesn't mean she deserves to be abused either.

I also think that if Chris cared about her as a "friend" he would advise her to not duet with him at all, or at least right now while he's still on probation, it just goes to show he's desperate for more money and attention as if he's not getting any more than he deserves.

You really believe that? She is clearly lying:

You don't put a look-alike of a person who put you in an emergency room in one of your latest music videos, and then actually work with that person again on two songs unless you're still absurdly in love with that person. While's she's in public now playing the role of some cold business woman, she's at home incessantly texting Chris and trying on wedding dresses.
