Epic/CBS didn't want Jermaine to release "Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" because they felt it would compete with the 'Victory' singles. This was just record company politics.Such a shame because "Tell Me..." would have went straight to Number One.I think it's stronger than anything on 'Victory'.

It was a #1 single on the dance chart and nominated for a Grammy. Had it been officially a single, it would've definitely been a hit on the Hot 100

It should've been on Victory IMO. Jermaine and Michael's performances of it during the Victory Tour were great

Yeah,it definitely should have been on Victory.

I want unreleased tracks as they were left. Bad25 remixes? Watch, it will probably be something like Justin Beiber doing a remix to Bad and Kanye West doing a remix to Another Part of Me rolleyes

i would have a bitch fit if that were the case! what they need to do is make a big extravagent box set with outtakes, demos, alternate versions, remixes, a live album (not yokohoma) and i think they should release a few dvds.. some from the 1st leg maybe tokyo (red shirt and black shirt) then of coarse Wembley 88 and maybe even an america show (MSG or Kansas)

I'd like that, too; but there is no way that'll be the case. The most we can realistically hope for is 1 bonus disc of outtakes/alternate takes, etc., and 1 live dvd. They're not going to be generous with the outtakes, though.. they paid a lot of money for that stuff, and they're gonna spread those songs across as many albums as they can. No posthumous album will have more than 10 songs on it. I doubt any album reissue will have more than 2-3 outtakes.

2 or 3 new songs is all I'm expecting, and if I get it, I'll be happy.

i know its not gonna happen, but it should.. and i dont undestand the way the estate is going about the posthumous album's. isnt the deal a 10 project deal?( correct me if im wrong, i am unsure) but i know there is WELL over 150-200 songs in the vault..then plus all the demos, and alternate takes etc.. they have so many oppurtunities to do some great things with the material.. i wish they would just do it right.

They're never going to do it right simply because they don't care about the fans or Michael. They care about the money and if they can sell thousands by doing little work, that's a bonus for them

As I go back over some This Is It stuff - I am reminded of how MJ was planning a new album. His approach was to release a new song every 1-2 months during the tour's 9 month schedule. And just release single after single until finally there was 10 tracks at which point he would package them as an album.

It was his way of controlling digital downloads, and recognising the shift in the way people buy tracks over albums these days.

I would have loved to see him do this. IT would have reminded people how innovative he still was.

I read he was doing a new album but had forgotten all about this. At first I didn't understand that concept but now looking back that would've been cool. Ugh. neutral

I have read in a few places now - once from either Kenny or Randy back in 2009, once in a discussion with Sugarfoot during his drum clinic tour, Chucky mentioned it in an interview, and I also recall one of his producers either Freeze or Riley or maybe Will.i.am mentioning it recently.

I think the first person to suggest Propofol to him as a sleeping aid is also as much to blame for making this the norm for him. Dr Murray compounded things to the nth degree with his incompetence but sadly if Michael hadn't died that morning, then he might still have been using it as a solution to his chronic insomnia to this day.

Swa, as a student pharmacist, i will tell you Dr. Murray should have immediately said NO to Michael's request for Propofol. Not "I wouldn't suggest it". Lawd hammercy..

I wanted whoever supplied him with the drug come be on trial too, considering cardiologists aren't supposed to have vials upon vials of Propofol Emulsion For Injection on hand. They should only be in the hands of hospital clinical pharmacists or OR nurses. NEVER THE DOCTOR.

Propofol Emulsion for Injection has only two FDA approved clinical uses. As an anesthetic for surgery and as a pain reliever in terminally-ill patients (can be given continually through an IV drip at a low enough dose that the patient is conscious but sedated). Insomnia is no where listed as a disorder to treat using Propofol.

Michael would still be here with us if he went to the right people to treat his insomnia. He unfortunately trusted his life to an incompetent who cared for nothing and no one except a paycheque and disposable female aquaintances. disbelief The whole thing's a mess and I'm personally very much ashamed, as I too am in health professions.

Anything about this song? Sounds very MJ-like, the vocals.

I feel like a very selfish fan right now, but I'm fucking mad at michael for trusting these stupid doctors too, even though we're supposed to trust them anyways. I feel like he abandoned us and it hurts like hell sad sad I want to hate him so much for how much pain I'm still in, it's really hitting me tonight. I'm sorry, my fucking hormones...... I'm making no sense and I know it's not his fault. I've seen what ill advice on meds does to people too, even people I personally know so maybe that's why I"m acting like this

And I thought I was fine now, but I put him on the other day and just lost it too. I can't admit how he went still that's why I get like that.

I'm a monster when someone deeply hurts me, that I start thinking and believing things I don't, and this has gotten me in trouble so many times in real life. It's like I'm fighting with myself when it comes to dealing with the pain over losing michael when I didn't even know him personally though I truly believed we were so alike and in a lot of ways we were though I know I'm my own self too. This is not just about losing him and still having his music, to me, he took something else with him, because I allowed myself to get addicted to him even more than before when I was running away from my own pain and feelings of abandonment that once he was gone, that all came back on top of him being gone and getting so close to seeing him though how he inspired me itself was special. Feeling the love is too painful to revisit though it's still there. I'm glad I don't think of him 24 7 like before like I couldn't turn it off, but I did before he died and after for a long time, he's that addictive and loving him hurts like hell, even before death it hurt so much to love him and defend him that it was affecting me emotionally and I had to distance myself and enjoy life. I'm so stupid...

Eyes I totally agree with you. My point was sadly that Michael had been doing this for a few tours (since HiStory) and who knows inbetween.

My point was that sadly whoever introduced MJ to propofol also has blood on their hands too. Yes, Murray should have said No and he is ultimately responsible, but sadly Michael felt this was the only way to get the sleep he so craved. I just wish when he was first introduced to it, someone somewhere would have so - no way this is wrong. Let's do something else.

hug @ everyone in this thread. You are not alone.

Im not sure how Dr. Murray became a licensed doctor. The fact that he did not even know how to do CPR properly eek Like what the hell was he doing with a license?eek eek eek eek eek Then his dumbass would have the NERVE to insist Michael injected PROPOFOL on his own when he left the room... DUMBASS eek How could he possibly do that when his already knocked out and just with how it was wired on him that was not realistic reasoning at all disbelief

It makes me sick just thinking about the whole ordeal and passing. Im just glad Michael is in a better place. His at peace. Dammit I love you Michael sad

Yeah, "Best of Joy" is a Dangerous outtake. It was on the list of records recorded for Dangerous that Michael wrote back in 90.

According to John Branca, "Best Of Joy" was a new Michael Jackson recording, and that version on MICHAEL is (with some production added after) the demo Michael was planning to take to London and finish there.

According to John, it was a "new" record for us because we haven't heard it. "Best of Joy" along with "Monkey Business" "Serious Effect" "Who Is It" and a couple others were handwritten by Michael on a piece of paper back in 1990 during the Dangerous session.

You just had to post a Bad clip sad I want to get happy and I eventually may if I put it on, but right now I feel like crying or just breaking something and screaming.

Fuck. Him.

I deserve to be happier.

I know the Murray crap but it doesn't run through my head like I expected, and I got numb during that trial though it was disturbing stuff. It just didn't process who it was about at all, like that doctor doesn't exist and didn't hurt this person, or it's some other tv show....

hmmm Now that you say it, yeah it definitely was an older recording. Because even the way the melody is shaped sounded like something Michael would've done in 1990, '91... though parts of it reminds me of a Bee Gees song (especially the bridge). I wonder if Michael ever recorded anything besides "Hold My Hand". Makes you wonder if he was able to finish any recording session between 2007 and 2009.

Don't get me wrong, it's possible that it COULD be a later recording of the record, but the actual song dates back to 1990. I personally think it's the original 1990 recording with updated production. John said "Best of Joy" was new just like management tried to convince us that "For All Time" was the 1982 Thriller outtake version and not the 1990-91 version.
