It's interesting that America chose to promote the fake Beatles than anyone else. I never heard of Placebo until I saw Velvet Goldmine and later, online. Same with other Brit groups that emerge around the same time as the Gallaghers. They tried to make a big deal about them breaking up two years ago. I read it going "good riddance."

I Am an Oasis fan "hides" but i like Blur more, and also like Placebo..

but Oasis only have 2 great albums, and now the bros say they don't even like those 2 lol

They are angry, bitter idiots and this diss on Radiohead, The Beatles, System Of A Down and way superior bands for well no reason.

Those 2 make Axl Rose look like a daycare teacher lol

I got no problem with that lol

She won't beat Prince's record because his album was number 1 for 24 consecutive weeks. Unless she stays at number 1 from now until July or August, I don't see it happening.

Yeah I know that. I think they mean in total number of weeks, not so much consecutively though.

This chick is soooo overrated. She is a talented vocalist who takes a lot from etta james vocal style. Her performances are boring as hell. Sorry im not moved. I do own 19 & 21. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

Kinda agree in a way. I do like Adele but while watching the brits last night and her performance i was thinking to myself I have heard this done before and better; what's all the fuss.

You mean record sales of "Thriller"? lol
"Thriller" has sold in the first year after the release of 32 million copies, "21" sold about 17 million, so I very much doubt that Adele could break the record sales of Thriller. I even doubt that "21" will be the best-selling album of the 21st century, because "one" The Beatles had sold approximately 31 million copies to date.

BRIT Awards Organizers Issue Apology to Adele

Feb 22, 2012

The producers of the BRIT Awards have issued an apology to Adele, whose acceptance speech for the Album of the Year award was cut short to make time for a closing performance by Blur.

Adele, frustrated in the moment, raised her middle finger to the cameras as she was forced off the stage. The singer later clarified that the middle finger was directed at "the suits at the BRIT Awards," and not her legion of fans.

"We regret this happened and we send our deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short this evening due to the live show over-running," said a statement from BRIT Awards organizers. "We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning our night's biggest award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her."

She seems to handle it well. Others definitely struggle with it.

Remember when Leona Lewis was hyped out of control and the world just thought she would smash? After Bleeding Love her momentum just crashed. You never know what's gonna happen. If someone asked me Adele, the girl I had no idea existed when she quietly won her first 2 grammys in 2008 would blow-up like this I would have laughed. I had Amy and Duffy both above her in my success-predictions.

Who knew.

Yeah that was no fair excuse mane... Blur may be legends but you gotta give the artist on the come up more time. lol No wonder they cut off on her. That's why the Grammys allowed her to have her "snot"-full moment. lol

The pop side of the industry is very fickle and for the most part unpredictable. I'd say Adele was in the right place at the right time. Not to mention RITD is one of the strongest 1st singles I can remember in a while.

SLY was a perfect follow-up, but risky at the same time - songs like that don't get played on radio today. Some of the RnB heads attribute her success to "shock" factor. As in, being white and singing songs with soul and R&B influences. I've been told by many fans of lesser-successful artist that if she was black she wouldn't see half the success she is seeing now. I find that bitter and ignorant.

Btw '21' is on track to sell ~300K next week.
