Lionel, Phil, hell might as well include Tina even though she was around for two decades before the '80s she was definitely an '80s superstar. Definitely more '80s pop icons still alive.

Thanks for reminding me, Timmy! hug

Speaking of Tina...

Umm...yeah!

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Alot of you do not know how to read... you just read what you want to read eek

I did not imply their was no 80s star alive still... THEY ARE... but none on the SAME MASSIVE LEVEL AND SUCCESS as Michael, Madonna, Whitney and Prince during the 80s

thats not being biased.. thats a FACT

eek

Also, Tina Turner is not an eighties superstar... Her prime was mostly during the 60s/70s.. just because she continued to do music during that decade doesnt mean she was the most relevant of it.

There is not a damn thing wrong with my reading comprehension skills. My achievements in that realm have been documented, nourished, developed and grown...ever since I was ten years old and entered the fourth grade.

So now...I finally can, do and will always...

Imagine Me

For me that is most certainly thanks in no small part to the efforts of Superstars, whose names were NOT...Michael, Prince, Whitney nor Madonna!

If I am being offensive to anyone right now, I'm truly sorry about that because honestly, that's not my intention. I'm tired as hell and I really do need to go to sleep but I cannot seem to do that. The JOY that I'm experiencing right now...that Whitney Houston OFTEN sang about...just won't let me!

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I just have to add to this...that Madonna will be treasured just the way she wants to be. Very sadly, I cannot in all honesty, at this precise moment in time, say the same thing about Prince.

I'd do anything I could to change that. However, after the so many years of praying, begging and pleading, I've come to accept that it's not up to me. What will be regarding Prince and his legacy will just be. I can only be thankful for what he meant to me and it took a mighty long time for me to see that nothing would compare to him...that clearly.

I was waiting for them to get off..half of the stuff he was preaching about had nothing to do with whitney.

Then you missed the message. Whitney LOVED the Lord and was NEVER-ever ashamed to speak his name on & off stage. Whitney battled her Demons through out her career but she never stopped praising God and her friends, Family and Fans witnessed that.

Marvin's "message" had EVERYTHING to do with Whitney and how she lived her life and what she showed people....

Marvin wasnt suppose to spend 30-min repeating what we already heard for the last 2hrs...His job was to BRING it all together at the end and Preach a lesson about "Life"...Trust me, Whitney would have approved of the sermon...

You need to remember to open yourself up and "listen" to the message instead of shutting down because you're not hearing a person's name every 2-second...Listen to the "message"....It's a life-lesson...

Sorry if Aretha's statement was already posted but here we go (free2befreeda posted the news column of her saying this):

I don't want to say Eff Aretha but lady please, you could have sat in a chair for half of the ceremony and wore ted stockings. Your fans would have understood, how many times do you get to send off your god daughter.

No class! Not surprised, lost a tone of respect for her.

I don't know what happened with Aretha but I do know as a singer myself that had she gone it would not have been enough. When a performer is present, no one cares how they feel they want to see you perform. Maybe that's the reason. As far as Bobby and his people, maybe he was afraid of an ass whupping, must be some hard feelings there. Remember Sam Cooke's brothers beat the shit out of Bobby Womack not long after Sam died. Family gets fanatical. If it were my family, I'd want to beat bobby's ass too.

Well, actually, I have been friends with one of Aretha's sons for years, and anyone ever stopped to think that maybe she doesn't even want one in existence?

The speculation and projecting around this place, and during a time like this... disbelief

Here's what I don't get, now that I watched Aretha's interview...

All these years, it almost seemed accepted that Aretha was her "godmother" so all of a sudden when the interview happens and Al Roker tells of the interview, all of a sudden it comes out that she wasn't and Darlene Love was the real godmother. This is the first I had heard of this.

probably a publicity gimmick by the likes of guys like clive davis. happens in the biz.

Bobby, Jr., LaPrincia, Bobby and Landon outside the funeral service. Hmm, I guess Bobby's fiancee is behind LaPrincia and Tommy Brown not too far behind her.

A Whitney fan shows a sign that paraphrases from Whitney's breakthrough 1985 hit, "You Give Good Love", which was Houston's first number-one Billboard hit on the R&B charts and a top three pop crossover hit:

All this pity for that retard Bobby Brown is incredible to me.

No one ever seems to realize that Whitney's family loathes him for a very lucid reason. Instead, he's absurdly labeled the "victim" here, for years before this tragedy, and even the day of the doggone funeral itself.....
