That's a lie, because if you truly didn't give a crap about Madonna or her career then you wouldn't be in this thread, several posts in, trying to argue some illogical opinion against her that's being debunked. neutral

And "taste" is subjective. Stats aren't. The stats are on Madonna's side.

razz

debunked?

She still is a no talent regardless of what her stats are.

Yes, debunked. I disagree that she's a no talent, thereby contradicting your statement, which is in no way any more valid than mine. So there. Aren't opinions fun? razz

And in the meantime, Madonna's stats remain untouched. Doesn't matter if you don't like her music. Doesn't matter if you don't think she's talented. Doesn't matter if you don't like her personally. There's nothing you can say or do to change, diminish, or negate Madonna's status as one of the most accomplished/successful recording artists in the history of all time, and *thee* most successful female recording artist - period.

do those 28 of Jackson's include his J5/Jacksons hits? If they don't already they should, cause let's get real here- nobody listened to those records cause of Tito or Jermaine.

LMAO!

When you consider that Off the Wall had 3 top 10s, Thriller and Bad both had 7 Top 10s each and at least 4 more off dangerous, that brings the total close to 28 alone.

If nothing else you have to admire Madonna's longevity, 38 Top 10s and a 29 year chart career. This from someone, many people in 1984/85 wrote off as a typical 80s pop act that would last 3 albums tops. Madonna seems to reinevent herself with every album and it works. She's also a brood hen to countless stars like Britney, Pink, Christina, Gaga (there I said it, shes a Madonna's daughter wannabe) and no doubt to singers n other language markets (Are there any Mexican/Latina Madonna type singers out there).

The best thing about it, is Madonna does not give a fuck and yet its obvious shes a stickler for quality control. I am more a fan of her early (1990 and earlier) stuff though, although her later music is at least listenable. I see is living out her Marilyn Monroe fantasy too.

Madonna is the type of star record companies dream of, she seldom delivers a stinker and she always has an appeal, that song as unremarkable and silly as it was, is still unbelievably catchy, and thats what gets the sales.

"the reason it's on the charts is that people are buying it"

i think sales are more powerful than a corporate radio playlist that's frozen (pun intended) with only 20 songs over and over (pun not intended)...all 'charts' should be sales-based, imvho, not clear channel-based

Sales mean a singer with a fan base can have a quick hit for one week and the song is gone. Tkae example of u "cant touch this" reached only #9 but everyone knows about it.

Instead u can have "one min" top 10 with no airplay and no one even knows which song it was.

There is something wrong there.

corporate radio playlist is the same coporation which is her record label i seriously thing it wont even have got an audience of 5mil if she wasnt signed to them

radio stations choose what u will hear when u turn up the radio...are u really this kind of audience? it seems u are...let them tell what is good enough 2 be on the charts or not...it's not about what people want 2 listen 2 anyway, right?... confused

you know, I give her a lot of credit for his success. You have to.

I still don't understand it one bit. She has very little raw musical talent.

She is basically Britney Spears of her generation, but bigger. Sad thing is, I think Britney is probably a better singer. And Britney fucking sucks at singing.

You're just wrong. eek I'm not a big fan of Madonna and I really like 10-15 songs in her discography, BUT Madonna's voice is much better than Britney's voice.

Britney had a good voice as a child, then I can not even call her an average singer, but Madonna in the late 90's was a decent singer.

Although the voices for both of them is not the most important factor.

This managing a top 10 peak is like Judas peaking at #10: it doesn't make it a hit. This is going to plummet next week. Internationally, it's underperforming as well - which is quite surprising, given how well 4 Minutes did. Hopefully the second single will be of higher quality.
