The .org ... 20 years ago

If the .org was around 20 years ago, what would be some of the topics floating around the Music: Non-Prince section?

Uh I'll start.

Dangerous vs. Diamonds and Pearls?

How long is this hip-hop stuff gonna last?

Anyone heard of that new band Nirvana?

Today's music is no good. It was better 50 years ago.

Is Vanilla Ice really from the streets?

What happened to U2?

Gerardo, Ya Kid K, or Freedom Williams?

What's up with that Geto Boys album cover picture? (The hospital)

Has Prince lost his damn mind embracing hip-hop/rap?

@LRC......Laugh now, but I bet Prince-purists even back in 1991 were bitching about Prince using Tony M as a poor man's Chuck D. lol

I could just imagine alll those zealot fans of Britney and Rihanna who constantly bang on about some new "record" broken by them, loving Mariah in 1991 and the records and awards she was getting at time LOL. Never mind if the songs were good or not, just as long as it's breaking records etc....lol

In sport those people Iam talking about are called glory hunters. Theres not many of them, but Iam sure they exist in music too. And I hate them LOL.

Mariah fans are the worst fanbase of anyone I have ever seen. I can't even take Mariah seriously anymore thanks to them. I can see them acting like that too, they were pretty horrible to Madonna in 2005 for kicking her ass worldwide when they should have been grateful she did very high numbers in the US lol

In the UK at least and I imagine Europe too, "Hung up" was much bigger culturally then "we belong together", but I take ur word on worldwide album sales.

Zealots "hung up" on chart stats are pathetic, but glory hunters are even worse. They just follow who is huge and breaking records at whatever current moment and become an obsessive fan overnight because of it. As I said, not many of them exist but Iam sure some do....
