Year End Top 5 Albums?

Hey guys as we are approaching the end of the year, it's time for the top 5's! Who do you think will be making your list? Mine is still subject to change but I think it's safe to say these will make it. I'd also like to point out this has been the best year for music( for me) in a very long time. Usually I can barely fill up my list and this year it's been hard to choose.

Here's mine so far...

1) Soul Punk - Patrick Stump ( this album imo is a pop masterpiece) Major props to Patrick!

2) Born this way - Lady Gaga (I truly love this album)

3) Angles - The stroke (

4) Chateau Faux coupe - Maya Vik (I know this is new but damn, it rocks my world)

5) Credo - Human League ( great electro pop album)

Honorable Mentions

In the spotlight - Suzi Quatro

Condensate - The Original 7ven (nice funky come back. It might have made the top 5 if it came out earlier).

Honkey Kong - Boots Electric

Biggest Dissapoinment

Beastie Boys - I wanted to like this album so badly but it did nothing for me. sad

I know it's a little early and most people are still working on their lists but I got antsy, since I figured many people have probably got it sorted out by now....

I've read a lot of good reviews on this album. I don't remember seeing anyone mention it here though. I will definitely check it out since you gave it a great review.

I've bought 2 albums this year, and only one of them was a new release.

The Original 7ven ~ Condensate

Bobby Bland ~ Call On Me {1963}

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Strangely there hasn't been too much talk on the org about this album but trust it is fantastic! He sings his arse off, plays all the instruments and produced it all too. You won't be disappointed.

I made a thread on this album, It is actually one of my favourite albums ever at the moment smile It's brilliant songwriting, instrumentally and lyrically and the singing is insane. Very Prince like I think with MJ like vocals and harmonies smile He himself has called it "smart pop" with the album really being about 90% metaphors using the usual pop music guises such as drinking and parties smile Also Prince-like is that he played every instrument, performed everything etc which I explain in the thread smile (Stump also has an "obsession with Prince") smile Hopefully you like it too smile

Link to thread doesn't work so I've bumped the thread smile

Oh yeah i've commentedon it there too but somehow I thought the org would be going in sane for this album but i know a few here dig it. I haven't been blown away by an album like this in a very long time. Loved it instantly and it gets better with each listen. My fave tracks are explode, dance miserable, i in lie, run dry but every track rocks!

Slight cheat, but I'm going for the 2011 US re-release of Disc-Overy just because it had the excellent "Love Suicide" on it! biggrin

Condensate is a great album. The title track is bad as hell. So funky! It needs tobe a single.
