I just recieved a call from a friend and he mentioned Vesta was found dead in a hotel room in Los Angeles...I am hoping this is just a ugly rumor. Can someone confirm or deny?

I never heard of this person, but I did an internet search and found absolutely nothing.

I did an internet search and found absolutely nothing.

I guess the news took a while to get out..

Daaaamn. I always cry when I hear her song, "Congratulations" on the radio. That song is always so touching and sad. Now when I hear it, I will cry even more, knowing that she is no longer with us. RIP, Vesta. Another great singer who was taken from us too soon.

Yes, unfortunately it is true. So sad, heaven has gained another awesome voice.<3 I remember hearing Congratulations as a kid and wanting to SANG. like. that.! Apparently everybody else did too cuz alot of folks attempted it on Amateur Night at the Apollo-- some were good, most made my ears bleed. lolol :0) #greatmemories

According to what I read online, Vesta was born in 1963. So she was not even 50 years old when she passed.

I can't believe she's dead. I just saw her on Monique's show not to long ago.. she did a show with Robin S., Vesta, Alicia Meyers and Gloria Gaynor... she looked great... so sad to hear this..

The cause of death is unknown. She was 48

According to her listing in Wikipedia, Williams was born in 1963 in Coshocton, Ohio. She was originally credited by her full name, but she has also been billed as Vesta since the 1990s.

Although Williams never had any albums certified gold and never had any Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, she scored seven Top 20 R&B hits from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s.
