No Vaseline, just a match and a little bit of gasoline;

light him up, burn him up, flame on

til that jeri curl is gone!

Hip-Hop was soooo much better back then.

"Yellin Compton but you moved to Riverside!"

Hands down the best dis record ever recorded. He absolutely destroyed them ni**as!

I remember reading a Source interview with Ren a few years after "No Vaseline" dropped. They asked him if he ever planned to retaliate. He said (paraphrased) "I thought about it but then I was just like...fuck it."

You never heard them say shit about Cube after that. Dre had a little dis for Cube on the Chronic, but they edited that shit out in the video version.

Hip hop glory days man...back when you actually had to have some skillz to be acknowledged! Amerikkka's Most Wanted, Kill at Will, and Death Certificate was Ice Cube at his finest. There was no way N.W.A. could respond to this and quite honestly they deserved it.

Good music makes me happy.

I'd add 'War & Peace, Vol. 1' to that list.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I put that on my momma & my dead homies!

What's funny we find out later Ice Cube was telling the truth.

There's no way NWA could respond after that diss.

The truth hurts.

I used to feel the same way about 'Dollaz n Sense' until I found out that DJ Quik didn't write it. I do however love 'Deathwish III' by MC Eiht.

Wow that is not true at all. Ice Cube and Eazy were straight out of the hood. Thats exactly how they got first recognized and they got together to form a group. The ONLY one that was not was Dr. Dre believe it or not.

But this is a classic hip hop tune

nod Only thing was Cube wasn't dumb enough to totally get involved in life-threatening activity in the streets (though he knew about it real well). He actually went to college (and I think he has a degree). Dre was definitely the only one who wasn't into street life. His mother did her thing to keep him and his younger siblings safe from the streets. Dre didn't really get involved in street life until after he founded Death Row.

Ice Cube wasn't a gangsta. He knew gangstas like Dove C , Mack 10, & KAM.

He knew about street life, but wasn't involved in it. Ice Cube is a smart business man that's it.

EZ-E was the only gangsta of the crew. He was from Compton Crip. He started his music business

with drug money. Everybody else in the crew was a rapper or DJ. I grew up in south central L.A.

That's how I know!

Thats true but it depends on what you classify as gangsta.

Just because Cube wasnt a crip or drug dealer etc doesnt mean he wasnt because Eazy was just as smart as Cube and I personally think he was smarter. Cube was raised and brought up in the streets his from the hood even though he might not have participated in everything that was apart of it which isnt ALL true. Cube was no angel and still had that street mentality LOL Eazy single handlely got all the members together and created Ruthless Records like you said

Its talks of a NWA movie.. I hope its true
