You have missed out, so get out there and get you some Floyd! Some of my favorite albums are Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut. But, you may want to start with the obligatory Darkside of the Moon.

Dark Side of the Moon is a good place to start since it's the most popular or commercial album. The Wall is also special but it might be a little too much for the novice listener due to it's subject matter and length. I would start with Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here first. I wouldn't delve into the early Floyd (totally different) unless you've been exposed to the later Floyd. Just my opinion of course.

You should post this in the Non-Prince music section. You'll get a lot of better responses. wink

I'ma newbie myself when it comes

to Pink Floyd.. though I do

own a handful of albums the only one

I've played more than once is

The Dark Side of The Moon

I liked the debut album

The Piper at The Gates of Dawn

as well cool

as far as T. Rex you should start

with the Electric Warrior album

it's where I got hooked

and those who matter don't mind."

giggle lol

I pretty much agree with danny

start with Dark Side and a double-CD compilation. And then look for the albums that include your favorite songs...

but keep in mind that their pre-Dark Side stuff is very hard to swallow and their post-The Wall stuff is decent but uneven...

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I love Floyd post Meddle...even the last two albums they did post Waters were superb I thought. Like many have said, start with Dark Side Of The Moon, then The Wall and Wish You Were Here.

Not a fan of the Barrett era though...too Beatles for my tastes, "I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like..." no thanks!
