So far, the album sounds smoother & more polished than Frantic, which was slighty raw & freaky...

cool but, where's Roxy's new studio album/comeback? sigh

I just began listening to tracks from Olympia this morning on AOL. Dave Stewart cowrote many of the songs. "Alphaville" is definitely worthy of single status right now.

Just listened to it this morning, by coincidence, after listening to Roxy Music's 'Avalon.'

I love 'Olympia.'

'Me Oh My' is mesmerizing, my favorite track. 'Tender is the Night,' 'Reason and Rhyme,' "Shameless.'

One of the best albums I've heard this year. Highly recommended.

OMG - how did I not know about this?? Must.Have!

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I've already listened to it about 6 or 7 times. It's AWESOME. His best work since the mid-80s...

You get Nile Rodgers, Flea, David Gilmour AND a Roxy reunion on there with Eno, which hasn't happened in almost 40 years.

I feel as if I've waited 27 years for this album.

It's like a follow up to 'Avalon.'

'Olympia' brings more to the table.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Bryan Ferry on the Olympia cover art:

"It's been quite a while since I put out an album featuring my own compositions, andOlympia is just that. It's taken a long time, and a lot of great musicians, old and new, contributed their talents to make it what it is, so naturally it's a very important record for me. Some people have already mentioned that Olympia sounds more like a Roxy Musicalbum than any of my previous solo records, and this is probably true.

Yep, it sounds like a mix of Boys and Girls with Flesh & Blood and Siren...

I have bought the special edition: expanded & sexy booklet, two bonus tracks and a commentary about the making of the album cool

I have this cd, and I am disappointed... I wish I could be as enthusiastic as you seems to be....

maybe this will grow for me. I really hope so.

IT WILL GROW nod trust me wink

on first listen, I thought it was unremarkable and slighty boring, like Mamouna, but 2 o 3 more listens and I realized that every song is superbly crafted and produced cool

I do agree, though, that there are no inmediate classics here, like Slave to Love or Limbo...

I find three: 'Tender is the Night','Me Oh My' and 'Song to Siren.'

I didn't expect to be enthralled on first listen but I was.

Bryan Ferry

Olympia (2010)

“Me Oh My”

Me oh my

I can’t believe my eyes

Everything I care about is gone I wonder why

Life is tough – no matter how I try

Tell me that I’m dreaming

Tell me it’s a lie

Me oh my

Show me that you’re mine

Can’t you hear my beating heart, in and out of time?

(Me oh my )

Me oh my

I can’t go one

What can I believe in, now that you’re gone?

Ring phone ring

A telephone line

Can’t you hear my beating heart, beat in and out of time?

(Me oh my)

Out of my mind

Out of the blue

Something incredible, so déjà vu

How many times, broken in two?

Maybe the same thing happened to you

(Me oh my)

Me oh my

My world gone wrong

I’m running out, running out

Of everything I want

Ring phone ring

A telephone line

Can’t you hear my beating heart beat in and out of time?

(Me oh my)

Out of my mind

Out of the blue

Something incredible, so déjà vu

How many times, broken in two?

Maybe the same thing happened to you

Nothing is real, nothing is true

Wish I could say the same thing about you

How many times, broken in two?

Wish I could stay but I’m just passing through

(Me oh my)
