Yeah I noticed that too, how she had this defensive yet, "let me stay as calm as I can" type look in her face...tripping over her words, lol. Though the narrator was saying that Val was denying it, she really didn't deny it 100%. I've always believed what Marvin said in his book because..well...especially after Tammi died...he just didn't give a fuck. That's why the "What's Going On" album was a big finger in Berry's face. Berry ain't never been nothing but a crook in a suit anyway...him and that damn Smokey.

[Edited 9/21/10 19:15pm]

More I hear her, it's like she's trying to deny it for Tammi's sake but if what she said was the gospel then she wouldn't have looked like she was sweating bullets. Even Nicholas had that look of "girl the jig is up. Marvin wasn't lying." lol

lol Yeah with that juice he uses in that wig of his greasing up his face.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Ahh man, was listening closely...in the beginning it sounds like it's Tammi because the voice is soft but feels like there's a slight weakness to it..as it goes on the voice gets strong, sounds exactly like Tammi, but when you get to like the middle, it's like the whole aura of the voice is changed...I think this is where Val's voice comes in.

Yeah it does... Valerie makes it sound like Tammi was all over the vocals but she might've just been singing WITH Marvin in unison while Valerie had to sing the rest of the songs so if Tammi made her input that way I can see what she means but she's in that album whether or not she wants to admit it or not.

Exactly. Valerie is definitely on it...funny how she didn't deny it completely that she wasn't on it..at the same time it was like she was trying to be careful with what was flying out of her mouth. Poor thing, seems like she's dying to snitch on Berry.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I KNOW. I can tell the tension. Something went DOWN between them and Berry but of course because Berry's alive they won't say it...yet.

I think they did sue Motown because they weren't rightfully paid for their work they did when they were in the label, which was roughly between 1966 and 1973.

Plus Motown didn't really wanna promote Valerie so she and Nick left in protest.

Y'all notice how it was slipped on there that Berry paid all of Tammi's medical bills? Yet didn't say how he was trying to benefit off of her situation...almost like Berry was saying "yeah I'm paying your bills but you gonna pay me back every dime whether you die or not you still owe me. Hey somebody get Val on the phone & tell her she better get her ass in that studio with Marvin....NOW DAMMIT!!!"
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Berry is in cahoots with Cathy and 'em. Of course they're gonna cover that (just like the story with Teena Marie though she remains in good contact with Berry and Smoke for some odd reason lol ). But yeah I noticed that.

WHy wouldn't Val snitch on Berry? They have no reason to be loyal to him now

shrug I don't know I guess Val's not the drama type (that's why she kinda held back in the interview I think).

I think Valerie did something similar to what Paul MacCartney did, on "Free As A Bird". He sang along with John's vocals to give it more support, being that it was from a cassette tape and John's vocals were in and out. I think the same could be said for Tammi and Valerie's situation. That being said, "The Onion Song", which is credited to Tami, sounds allot like Valerie.

I have my mom's 45 of that. I have to check it out.

That's what I was thinking too. Val looks like she would spill it if she could, but it was obvious she was holding back...and I think Berry may have made her sign something for life about it...or else get sued.

I used to see her in Atlantic City, alot. She would always be playing the slot machines...

Awfully funny how they got ole Otis gruff to bash on Ruffin. Everbody knows that they both hated each other. But then again he is one of very few of the oldies that's still alive. shrug

yea... i didn't know she was 24 when she died.... very sad story

I didnt know that either. I was shocked!

What bothered me is people witnessed her getting beat and no one tried to stop it.

They mentioned it briefly in The Temptations movie at the picnic.

It was criminal that Tammi's version of All I Do was never released.

I wonder if Berry felt it wasn't her time yet or did his staff at Motown

voted it's thumb down on it.

Most likely because Berry had veto powers he was the sole decider but I guess if the Motown staff were mostly "nay" on it, then it helped to make his decision. confused

Well I finally saw the episode on Tammi, who has always been one of my fave singers. Most of the things revealed on the episode I already knew, but I still enjoyed it. I couldn't help but cry at the end. I just think this was a girl who had so much potential! Not only was she a wonderful vocalist, but she was beautiful and had TONS of charisma and by all accounts was a great performer. I think she would have been a huge star. She had that "it" factor for sure. It's just so sad and unfair that her life was cut so short and sad how she suffered at the end, but she has left her mark and seemed to enjoy life as much as she could in the brief time she was here.

I'm looking forward to the Motown compilation coming out. Can't wait to hear her unreleased recordings. LOVE TAMMI! I just wish there was more video of her. All i've seen is "Aint nothin' like the real thing" performance with Marvin and "Aint No Mountain High Enough" video. I wish there was more footage of her sad .

"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

I doubt there was actually much but if it was, either it's in bad shape or it got lost somewhere, like a lot of sixties TV footage.
