Bionic - Christina Aguilera an Official BOMB

sad
this has topped my most anticipated lists for like 2 years... and now we get this:

So after months of rumors of work with Goldfrap, MIA, Ladytron, Sia, Le Tigre and plenty of other of my favorite artists the first single drops. and is DROPS. NMT is AWFUL. and now it seems its writer producer Pon De Palow or whatever has his hands all over the album to remove the very thing I wanted from it. All the collaborates had some amazing unique qualities to them. Now this guy made every up beat song either sound ridiculous, or just plain boring. I am SO disappointed. This could be her last peak in the top 40.

The only song I see myself loving is Monday Morning which is only on the Delux version anyway! But Lift me Up and You lost me seem like they could be pretty good.

Yea, I heard the samples and its really meh confused I thought she was going for a futuristic sound!?! Instead there's like 2 songs that sound like an M.I.A another 3 that sounds like Madonna songs, 2 that sound like Britney and Lady Gaga songs.

The whole industry is a BOMB so why stop there. everyone is just repeating what everyone else did already or is oding right now, there is no art in painting a picture that is already done, no one in marketplace gets it, this goes even for the "so called" indies who are also just trends at this point doing things the same way just under the "indie" flag .

Notice the album sampler I posted. It gives a pretty good Idea of the album.

EXACTLY! It doesn't sound futuristic at all! And all of the dancey songs sound like something even Ciara would pass on.

The beginning of track 6 is some Lady Gaga shit. Come on now.

I thought that exact same thing. Latina Gagulara knew about all these Gaga comparisons for well over a year. you'd think she'd stay away from the shock that Gaga has mastered and go for the future look so as to differentiate herself. Instead she seems to have done just the opposit.

Since when does Future = Shock Pop = Electronica = Grace Jones Rip Off photo shoots = No pants

Almost every girl on the pop scene is trying to do the same thing.

Thank god for the likes of Kesha and Katy Perry, yeah you may hate their music, but at least they smile and joke around.

Sounds like it was never what she implied it would be (the "sneak peek" of the hits songs wasn't super impressive) or IT REALLY got away from her. Either way, sounds pretty bad. I know "Woohoo", which looks like it could be a second single, certainly doesn't sound like the cutting edge stuff she was talking about. She might deserve to flop!

If she chooses WhooHoo as her next single she certainly will deserve it. She's gotta go for a ballad, its her strong point, and there are just no good pop songs from what I can here on this album.

Oh, and Woohoo is single material. It's one of the best tracks I've heard from the album sessions yet (although Bionic is the best 'full length' song, maybe that should be the next single?)

I thínk I will probably adore Sex in the Morning. I also will probably like All I Need and You Lost Me, but I am really not sure about that rest. Most of it sounds AWFUL!

And I love Stripped and Back to Basics, but this is just really disapointing.

I wish I knew what you guys were hearing, because I hear some of the best music that she's created yet in these snippets. And I've been a fan of Miss Aguilera since day 1; I bought her first album based on Genie In A Bottle, and have followed her since then.

Maybe you're all just resistant to change? Sometimes an artist has to change it up, doesn't make the new music or 'sound' bad. At least she isn't like Britney, who releases pretty much the same album over and over again.

Oh, and how do these songs sound like Lady Gaga? Honestly, aside from them (possibly) looking alike, what do they have in common, besides they're both pop musicians? Lady Gaga didn't invent electronic beats, you know...

I'm Madonna's biggest fan, I love change.

Its not just the music. It doesn't sound very similar but its the fact that Xtina is trying to be futuristic. Any artist can do this, but ever since Gaga hit the scene every artists equates futuristic with weird and shock value. NMT music video was the saddest thing I've ever seen because it simply felt so desperate to be like Gaga.

Okay let's not make this into some big goddamn comparison thread again. This is about Aguilera's album being a flop.

Don't be dismissive of people, saying they're "resistant to change". That's nonsense. You forget that we're Prince fans. Prince invented change in music. We're fans who have loved Controversy, hated The Rainbow Children, eaten up Exodus, and used Musicology as for fake flying saucer photos sent to NASA and Project Blue Book. We know change.

CA is trying too hard. It doesn't take a lot for her to sing the shit out of a song. But musically, these samples are ridiculous. It won't be a hit album. It'll stall coming out of the gate, and it'll disappear soon. She might try to breathe new life into it with some deluxe edition by the end of the year, packed w/ a DVD and remixes or outtakes, but it'll be too little too late.

You have no special edge on all things Aguilera. A lot of us do like her, and have listened to her since day one, just as we have Prince. That makes us alike, not different. We know the different styles she's tried over the years. The Bionic stuff? It's really bad, it's noisy, it's not written or constructed well, the production is way over done like a bad steak, and frankly we already know she flat out plagurized two Madonna videos, and a Lady Caca video (plus some George Michael for good measure) for "Not Myself Tonight".

Change is good...unless you're trying to change into someone else who's already done something iconic. Then you're just cheap and desperate.

I like Christina too, she just doesn't give me what I need on this particular project. If I was hating on her you'd think I would call her names but I ain't. She stumbled on building blocks with this album, can't really get behind it. Sorry. I'm with Ernest on this.
