Monica single "Everything To Me" (longer final version)

Samples "Silly" by Deniece Williams!

(They added a bridge since the song was so short).

Love the "Silly" sample! They kept it short like songs back in the day.

I saw this on her show, and thought it okay. They used the flute sample as an instrument.

For me, it's Monica who had the talent and the voice. She just has the wrong people behind her. Like I stated in a another post, she needs to get rid of her management and get an entirely new crew of producers. Although Brandy has a voice, it is somewhat thin at times. She always has the luck of the draw when it comes to producers as well as the people representing her.

I think you got it backwards when it comes to Brandy and her producers, after watching her singing "A change is gonna come", I discovered how much they repressed her talent instead of showcasing it.

Monica was alright when she 1st started out(her 1st 2 albums were nice) but then she got into this "ride or die chic" persona that made her look/sound awkward.

Monica has that mentality due to her management and producers always telling her to push that sound. Brandy's fist CD was classic. Why, because she got the right producers and musicians behind her. She really does not have that great of a voice, too breathy. Monica has that "Take'em to church", kind of voice. It is just bad material and management.

Fuck Brandy. I created this thread about a new Monica song in 2010.

Why are we discussing the past and/or another artist?

Back on topic please.

Ok topic of Monica, dont like her, havent, never will. Could never get into her, she to me, is one of the things that killed RB, and made labels take certain angles with the tone of who gets signed and who gets promoted

Nobody cares if you like her or not. You already stated that you don't even like R&B so I don't get why you come in every thread about a R&B artist. It's annoying and unnecessary.

When did i ever say it didnt like RB? WTF are you even on about, get it straight, WTF do you think Rashaan Patterson is, what is Angie Stone, what is Anjulie, what is Maxwell, what is ALicia, What is Amerie, What is RJ Adams (someone everyone should be talking about if they say they love roots rb) and what about the Roots, Lupe, and others that i have praised for their work, adn for the old school wtf is stevie, ewf,Marvin,Prince (which i have 79 times in concert, guess i hate RB) kool and the gang, etc....

Just because i dont kiss the fucking ground of Beyonce,Janet,Monica and Brandy and bullshit from Timbalame and Lil Wayne has nothing to do with RB, RB is a wide spectrum, LEARN something already, its a new year and do some research on how wide music is. Dumb statements like that are expected here i see, so now if i say Fall Out Boy is fucking horrible band i guess i hate ROCK music, get real, go away.

There you go again throwing Amerie's name where she doesn't belong. You need to understand that what she does is not different from anything Ciara or Christina Millian has done. Reason why she remains in the bottom of the barrel. I know who those artists. I personally don't care for a few of them but that doesn't I will go in every thread and state that they're the reason for the fallout of R&B. Also Monica is NOT the reason for the state R&B is in that would be your girl Amerie. Monica is just a part of a formula the industry follows. She had her run and got replaced. Amerie not so much she probably slipped through the cracks the same way J. Lo did. Beyonce has nothing to do with this and neither does Janet. Brandy doesn't either. Lil Wayne isn't R&B. Maybe you should learn a few things about music. You seem close minded and seek these underground artists that you find to be "hip" and "real". Boo hoo!

Again clinging to one artist, well thats all you got to go on. AND for a fact what is this bullshit about the underground, do you even know the differnce between artists not in the mainstream and UNDERGROUND, you have no fucking clue about the underground. So when i talk about artists like Ryan Adams and Alison Krauss, that is NOT FUCKING UNDERGROUND get a life and listen to something other than what is fed to you on the radio. I dont like underground artists, cause quite frankly i dont care about them, most of them die off after one album and im not in this for artists that cant produce a catalog, so learn the difference between not being mainstream and underground, i have never talked about any UNDERGROUND artists, as a matter of fact i have stated in numerous threads that the NET and UNDERGROUND does not have better music than that of a small label owned by a major.

AND for my inclusion of Lil Wayne that was a statement on genres, as you see i pointed out Lupe Fiasco and the Roots which is Rap, so thats what was. But i guess if i say i dont like Lady GaGa now i hate Dance Music. Monica is part of what brought in $$$ for RB and what brought it down, as were others like all the RB groups like Next and 112 and the puffys of the world and there bullshit remixes, thats why you have RB now that cant find itself because all it wants to do is sell, so the images are the same.....Toni Braxton new album, 100% sell out, well all said she would go that route and she did. As for AMERIE she never had a "RUN" wtf is that about, do you know what a RUN is, a Run is 10 straight top ten hits, 5 platnum albums, Amerie had one Gold record and One Gold Album in this country, that is not a not a run, not even in this day and age when no one sells.

falloff falloff Why all these essays?

Clinging on to one artist? That's one "artist" you mentioned that hasn't done anything of her own style. The others are boring but have a few tunes I like. Okay, non-mainstream sounds better to you? LOL! and FYI I don't listen to artists that get airplay on the radio. So you can you sit down with that BS. You're acting like Monica never made good R&B music. She did. Yes, she was a part of a formula but she has made good music (only her 90's work) that didn't bring R&B down.

So agreed then, you find who i mentioned boring and i find Monica boring from a boring time in rb, that eliminated all the live music from RB and replaced it with the producers of the day, and took RB down case closed, RB was already dead by the late 90's, u can also blame diddy for that and his molding of the genres of rap and rb, so u had everyone putting 8 rappers on their cd. And as for mainstream and non mainstream and underground, look UNDERGROUND is an artist that sells his cd out of the trunk of his car, Ryan Adams is signed to a major label but he isnt mainstream, big difference.

Boring? I find Monica boring too but that doesn't mean she was a bad artist that ruined R&B or some shit. Her later efforts were so horrible so I would agree that she is a part of the problem in the '00. I agree with you on Diddy disbelief Yea, I know the difference.
