Albums and Songs of the 2000s Poll

The 2000s are coming to an end, and I know many people here have found a lot of music to love! One of the things I love about this forum is how eclectic the tastes of the posters are- whatever is worth knowing out there, somebody here has the goods about it!

So, come one, come all and participate in a poll of your favorite albums and songs of the decade. Feel free to submit ranked lists of up to 200 songs and 200 albums, and I'll post the results after the deadline at midnight, January 1, 2010 org time! Please submit your lists to ian_renner[at]yahoo.com, replacing the [at] with the @ symbol (I don't want spam, yo). I've got a decent scoring system worked out for it, so send in your lists! Make sure you tell me what your Org username is. I'll reply to your message to let you know that I got your list. I'd prefer to receive lists made in Microsoft Excel with a .xls extension (none of that Excel 2007 tripe!) with separate columns for artist, album/song and year. I'd prefer the artists to be listed like "The Strokes" as opposed to "Strokes, The", but it's not a deal breaker. biggrin

One other thing- no compilations!

Feel free to use this thread for recommendations- I know there are still many albums and songs that I haven't heard that would have a chance to make my list.

I also started a thread about this topic. Didnt see you created this one allready.

Anyway, here is my pick of albums:

1. Björk - Vespertine
2. Kate Rusby - 10
3. REM - Reveal
4. Caroline Herring - Lantana
5. The Endrick Brothers - Love vs Attraction
6. Teddy Thompson - Upfront and down low
7. Los Lobos - Good Morning Aztlan
8. Tim Christensen - Honeyburst
9. Ash - Intergalactic Sonic 7''s

Thanks for the list! I totally agree with your Number 1!

As for songs, you can submit a list of even 10, and you've got until January to submit, if you want! Based on your album list, I'd love to see a song list. biggrin

you'll be hearing from me.

unfortunately my list more than anything is a documentation of my disengagement from new music. at this point 64.4% of my list is made up of records from '00-'03.

I was hoping I would get a list from you!

Your preference for music from the early part of the decade seems to be pretty commonplace, looking at most lists out there!

That's for 2009 albums only. And it doesn't include songs. And it's not a poll.

I believe in order for your list to qualify, the albums have to be ranked in order of preference.

An order would be nice, but they don't have to be ranked. I can treat them all as one big, tied list, with each album getting the average points of the ranks.
