With regard to "Crazy In Love" being a classic, ask Amarie about that song and if the power of Matthew Knowles had it taken from her.

Lastly, what is the old saying, "Pretty get's you a pass"? Plus check out my tagline.

I think people give Matthew Knowles a lot more power than he actually has.

Amerie has no right to bitch about Crazy in Love getting "taken" from her. Rich Harrison has the right to work with whoever the fuck he wants to, and just because Amerie worked with him 1st doesn't mean that other people aren't gonna want to work with him.

Shit just sounds like sour grapes to me. Beyonce didn't "steal her sound", she just worked with the producer that gave her the sound in the 1st damn place!

It would be like if Cherrelle started bitching about Janet stealing Jimmy & Terry away from her.

Not every pretty, light skinned chick becomes huge stars either. If that was the case then Amerie would be right behind Beyonce her damn self.

Folks would be here complaining that she got too much airplay and she her career wouldn't be where it is if she had dark skin.

The criticisms about Beyonce could be said about 15 other chicks out there, but because she's "on top" she gets the shit thrown her way.

In direct response to the bolded portion: Sure doesn't mean they don't stand a better chance. Kelly Rowland is a brown skinned girl like me, but if she had Beyonce's whole catalogue she wouldn't be shit in comparison. And that's just how I see things. Did you see/hear anything about India.Aire's album this year? Black is beautiful, but that Willie Lynch BS has it all jacked up. People are constantly placing looks in front of the final product. I'm even struggling to name most recent, widely popular and successful album by a darker skinned black woman. All I could think of was Erykah Badu. So tell me if I'm just seeing it wrong. (Come to think of it, Rihanna isn't dark skinned either.) The most successful ones tend to be a little lighter in complexion. And that's no fault of the musicians/artists. At the end of the day, all I can say is that it's fucked up.

Beyonce = not an artist

Also, she's not nearly as relevant as other artists. It shouldn't be based on popularity, it should be based on relevance. But yet, this clearly isn't the case.

Again, people are reading way too much into this article.

This is just an opinion of ONE person.

This isn't an award she gets.

It's a magazine article.

It's just a headline to get people's attention.

Maybe the figured they could get a bunch of silly people to talk about it on message boards.

Damn, looks like it worked!!!

I've seen pictures of her mama when she was Beyonce's age. She could get it.

OK, Beyonce didn't "steal her sound" which is NOT what I said in the first place (I spoke of a song). We all know this because Beyonce doesn't steal...right? The Beyonce "machine" doesn't try to sabotage the "competition"...right? Beyonce doesn't try to squeeze herself into the picture of everyone (Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, and others) or anything that's hot at the time...right? This girl's success is soley based upon talent...right? Yeah.

And who said anything about "every pretty, light skinned chick becoming huge stars "? Change nothing about Beyonce except her skin tone and her hair color, with HER level of "talent", and her career would not be as HUGE as it is. Oh let me guess, you believe if she wasn't "Beyonce", she still would have been cast in the movie roles she's been cast in due to her outstanding acting ability...right?

Let's face the ugly truth, Beyonce's skin tone and hair color have played a huge role in her "success" and quite frankly, anyone who believes she would still be where she is if she were charcoal black or even chocolate brown, is foolish.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Beyonce wouldn't be able to "squeeze" herself into the picture of everyone if they didn't let her.

Would Madonna be able to get the movie roles she got if she wasn't "Madonna"???

Gabrielle Union is a chocolate/dark skin sista. Do you think she gets her movie roles because of her "talent", or the fact that she's fine as hell???

I'm not saying Beyonce is the Artist of the Decade. I'm not saying she isn't, either.

The hysterical overreaction to this non-story says more about the people here, than it does her.
