I love how musicians in the 70s, like the Five Stairsteps and Curtis Mayfield, would write such optimistic, uplifting songs despite all the hardships that were still there in the 70s. That is totally lacking in today´s music, which is often ego-driven and dark and pessimistic.In the 70s, people sung about the bright side AND the dark side of life.
