I became a U2 fan after the Joshua Tree release - and began exploring all their back catalogue as soon as I could. When Rattle and Hum came out, I was deep into The Unforgettable Fire - to me it was a top album, (now #2 in my U2 top albums, right after Achtung Baby and before Under A Blood Red Sky). Pride and Bad will always be killer songs, A Sort of Homecoming (live or studio version) always comes to mind everytime I come back home after a travel, The Unforgettable Fire is one of the most underrated songs ever...

One of my all time favorite albums.

Picked this up Tuesday and it sounds incredible remastered. Great bonus disc as well.
UF is my fave U2 album. Always has been. It's also one of my fave albums of all time. Period. I've been patiently waiting for this deluxe version for a long time. It was definately worth the wait.

listening to it so much this past week only confirms my feeling that their new album is only dressed up in Unforgettable Fire decorations and is really not all that good or interesting on its own terms.

I found No
Line.. very uninteresting and I like only about 3-4 songs sad The last great album was imo POP.

I love "No Line" and I can't wait for "Songs of Ascension" because they do sound like the band on UF but more mature.

I'm looking forward to Songs of Ascension, despite my apathy for No Line. sounds like the more interesting side of this project.

but I have seen them say that they want some mainstream hit-type stuff on it too, so I dunno. kinda feel like they shouldn't have split the difference. there's a little too much noodling on No Line for it to be a strong mainstream album to me, and if they're going to put some hits stuff on Songs of Ascension, I'm afraid it'll fall into the same trap.

Unforgettable Fire tour was the first time I saw them and I left that concert thinking that they were the best band in the world. I do not feel that way anymore but I still think they are great. I should pick this up.
