Punk, postpunk, goth, new wave, no wave, synthfunk and disco were all at their peaks during this time. I could listen to nothing but those types of music for days, weeks even. agreed, most everything I love happened in those 10 years.

It's hard for me to answer because my tastes feel more scattered & unfocused than ever. My reflexive answer is the 60s because I do think it was a golden age for pop music; I'd say that was really the last time that best pop music was also the most popular music.

I think to have a fair opinion you really had to be in that decade to get the full feel of it. I cant sit here and praise the 50's and yet not have lived in them. So i would have to say it varies in the decades i have lived in.

Punk, postpunk, goth, new wave, no wave, synthfunk and disco were all at their peaks during this time. I could listen to nothing but those types of music for days, weeks even. Same here. Funk had progressed from the early 70s sound into a more modern late 70s sound, disco was great, and funk from the early 80s progressed even more from the late 70s funk with an even more modern sound. Also, very few crossover funk and R&B songs, the slow jams were great also with a sexy after midnight feel to them, and there was very little adult contemporary coming from the R&B side. Rap was great also. It was actually funk. Hell, rap was damn near disco since the tempo was even faster than funk. Yes, most definately 1975-1984. Andy has spoken dammitt.
