Best and Worst Remakes/Covers/sampled songs ever

Man, I'm not one to dislike a cover or remake before I actually listen to it, because a good, well-written song can be a good, well-written song no matter who sings it, but sometimes I wonder what the fuck some artists were thinking when they re-make songs because it really should be worse than the original. Here's one of the worst covers I've heard in recent years:

New

Original

Best Cover:

"I'm dissatisfied with every record that the Beatles ever fucking made." John Lennon

"'F' Love." Rihanna

"Even geniuses ask questions."Tupac

Got To Get You Into My Life-The Beatles-There's magic in simplicity and The Beatles wrote the blueprint 4 it

Chicago style-This was in their set list b4 they were known as "Chicago Transit Authority" and as you can see they did it much justice....

Earth, Wind & Fire style-I didn't know horns could talk till I heard this song lol Check out Verdine swingin the bass and how Maurice is scattin like he swallowed a trumpet....smile

Here is mine. As much as I like the O'Jay's, I don't like their original

Now, this is how a cover is supposed to be done

Third World added something to the original version.

I have and it was pretty good. I bet you never heard of this combination

and in my opinion, another perfectly done cover...

Again, UB's version is a perfect example of a great cover. They took the song and without mucking it up, made it their own.

NObody should have touched Christopher Cross. His voice to me was not very versatile. therefore, any song that HE sounded good on, is not really an easy one to cover. I don't know who Avant is, but I think I have heard his version and it pisses me off everytime I heard it because I would think it was a rare treat to hear Christopher Cross and then get tricked. mad

I love this one.

I was always crazy about this sample of MJ´s Lady in My Life.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
