Copycat

"Waters of March" is my all-time favorite composition by Jobim. I reflect on the passage of time and mortality upon every listen. It's sublime.

thumbs up! Love it! First heard it on Jerry Seinfeld's 'Comedian' movie around 2001. This was my first Jobim experience and it is still my fav.

Well said Copycat, I agree touched Ms. Elis Regina besides being an amazing singer she possesed.. je ne sais quoi quality. One can only wonder what her life and career would have been if she had lived.

That's funny because I first saw it in a commercial for "SeaLab 2021" (probably around the same time).

It seems she preferred this kind of "heat" to the "cool" bossa.
From what i've read, her personality had heavy doses of both.

She is one of my vocal heroes.

I first discovered her music as a small child (listening to NPR). I used to sit and listen to her voice boom itself out my bedside radio. I had no idea what she was singing, or what she looked like... but I knew the voice, her inflections. When she died I was completely traumatized. I was only 10 years old.
