I LOVE this song, always have. Such good memories when this was out. Music across the board was soooo good back then.

I'm glad to have been born in the late 70's, but I wish I was born 10 years earlier. I grew up in the 80's so that's second best. lol

The Cover Girls' version:

BTW, The Cover Girls also had an uptempo version of this song. But I'm still can't find the video with THAT version as of late.

Teena Marie's version:

Beyonce's version:

The Cover Girls and Teena Marie are good covers, think Beyonce's is awful though, and I knew it would be ... confused

My favorite Rose Royce track is this one... Brings back memories of that famous scene from "Car Wash"!!

SoulAlive

Does anyone remember a cover version of this song from the early 80s? It's from 1980-82....it came out sometime during those years.I think it was a jazz artist with a guest female vocalist on it? There was alot of saxophone in it,especially near the end.I remember hearing this version and thinking that it was as good as the Rose Royce version.

Yeah, the Beyonce version is weak. She should stay away from classic songs like this.....songs that require some emotional depth.

I agree. nod Soul is a genre that required emotional depth.

The Cover Girls -- Wishing On A Star (Dance Mix)

I used to rock THIS^ version back in the very early 90's when freestyle, hip-house, & club dance were still being played on FM radio. dancing jig
