Richard was a comedic prophet. My best friend came into a power position at a local college, He's black, I told him: "well you know what's coming" one way or another they'll cook up something they always do. It's not even always racial, just the white ways of doing things is just so backwards, they don't treat their own people right either, remember that.

I've been wondering about those reports myself, wouldn't doubt some shrink would try to label him that. That's what they do for a living. Also, most ever single Rock and Roll star is schizoid meaning, sharing characteristics or bordering on schizophrenia. Elvis, Prince etc.., I've not read a biography of my favorite musicians without reading of someone opining that the artist was "schizophrenic". Couldn't literally be true I don't think. Full blown schizophrenics wouldn't have the self control to accomplish anything.

this taraborelli book is cracking me up he says that mj is "faking it' in the wheelchair here for attention

also michael jackson might be a schizoid narcissist, although schizoids tend to be "unemotional".. he also had anxiety problems, panic attacks. he really was a piece of work.

causes of narcissism:

# An oversensitive temperament at birth
# Overindulgence and overvaluation by parents
# Valued by parents as a means to regulate their own self-esteem
# Excessive admiration that is never balanced with realistic feedback
# Unpredictable or unreliable caregiving from parents
# Severe emotional abuse in childhood
# Being praised for perceived exceptional looks or talents by adults
# Excessive praise for good behaviors or excessive criticism for poor behaviors in childhood

Pfft, how about doing something REALLY wacky and putting out all the Motown J5 and solo studio albums in the shops for a change? There are so many hidden gems on those albums that aren't on these generic compilations and this is a time where the rest of the public might actually take time to listen to them.

SCHIZOID
ICD-10 criteria

According to the ICD-10, schizoid personality disorder is characterized by at least three of the following criteria:

* Emotional coldness, detachment or reduced affection.
* Limited capacity to express either positive or negative emotions towards others.
* Consistent preference for solitary activities.
* Very few, if any, close friends or relationships, and a lack of desire for such.
* Indifference to either praise or criticism.
* Taking pleasure in few, if any, activities.
* Indifference to social norms and conventions.
* Preoccupation with fantasy and introspection.
* Lack of desire for sexual experiences with another person.

[edit] DSM-IV-TR criteria

The DSM-IV-TR, a widely used manual for diagnosing mental disorders, defines schizoid personality disorder as:

A. A pervasive pattern of detachment from social relationships and a restricted range of expression of emotions in interpersonal settings, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by four (or more) of the following:

1. neither desires nor enjoys close relationships, including being part of a family
2. almost always chooses solitary activities
3. has little, if any, interest in having sexual experiences with another person
4. takes pleasure in few, if any, activities
5. lacks close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
6. appears indifferent to the praise or criticism of others
7. shows emotional coldness, detachment, or flattened affect

B. Does not occur exclusively during the course of schizophrenia, a mood disorder with psychotic features, another psychotic disorder, or a pervasive developmental disorder and is not due to the direct physiological effects of a general medical condition.

DSM-IV, which is an earlier version of DSM-IV-TR, does say that a person with Schizoid Personality Disorder may feel sensitive to the opinions of others and may even feel lonely but can not do anything about the loneliness due to the disorder.[9]

I'm not one for labels and such, I've had too many bad experiences with them. IQ's, mental criteria whatever, I steer clear of. I mean we always have to use the european way of measuring things and Native americans and blacks are often schizoid for very valid reasons. However, I also believe there is such a thing as crazy, certainly but you know what else?? I've known so many people in my life and I swear, they are all crazy, including me. Just takes time for you to find it out.

Also, I've always believed the great ones are schizoid, they have to be. Elvis, Prince, Bruce Springsteen all got in touch with ideas within which suggested a vision that could communicate to alot of people. You have to be deep into oneself to come up with something like that and you also must be able to express it too. You'll always hear the word schizophrenic come up if you research Elvis, Prince, Marvin, Bruce and Michael. You have to be a little off to be that creative.

'Official Michael Jackson Opus' Will Pop with Photos, Tributes

August 11

The first new book about Michael Jackson sanctioned by his estate will be published Dec. 7, and it promises to be as razzle-dazzling as the late pop icon himself.

Kraken Opus, whose opulent publications focus on major figures and brands in sports and the arts, begins accepting pre-orders today for The Official Michael Jackson Opus at michaeljacksonopus.com, michaeljackson.com and through Ticketmaster.

The oversized, 400-page tribute will be driven by photos but also will include essays, illustrations and poetry, at least half of it exclusive — all handbound in leather and enclosed in a silk clamshell case.

Where other projects have been priced at more than $2,000, the Jackson book will cost $165. "Michael wanted this to be accessible to as many people as possible," says Kraken CEO Karl Fowler.

Kraken reached out to Jackson last year through the singer's attorney Peter Lopez. "We wanted to tell the behind-the-scenes story of Michael Jackson the entertainer," Fowler says. The plan was to include Jackson's concerts at London's O2 Arena, which were set to start in July.

While Jackson was in rehearsals, he invited Kraken executives to his house in Los Angeles. When Fowler mentioned they were working on a Disney Opus, Jackson reacted "like a boy in a sweet shop. He asked if he could contribute and get a copy."

Lopez says Jackson was impressed by the Opuses' "sense of grandeur" and "expressed a definite desire to get on board." But Lopez and Kraken were still in negotiations when Jackson died June 25, which required the company to seek approval from his estate — and amend its strategy.

The chronicling of the London performances "will be sorely missed," Fowler says. "But everyone involved in that tour wants to take part."

Celebrities and insiders who knew and worked with Jackson also are expected to contribute. "We're asking people to write a sentence, a paragraph or a chapter," says Kraken's Jeff Wald. "We expect a huge turnout."

All books include Michael Jackson Opus Reality membership, which provides access to interactive footage with periodic updates.

Five copies signed by a variety of famous fans will be auctioned to benefit five charities favored by Jackson.

Not that good of an article, the writer must be gay, not that that's bad, but gays often have the tendency to "know" someone is gay. Tiresome really. It's projection plain and simple.

In 2003 Jackson Faced Charges He Had Molested a Child. He Was Found Not Guilty, but His Reputation Never Fully Recovered.

Over the last 15 years of his life, Michael Jackson became almost as well known for his time in court as for his moonwalk. Twice accused of child molestation, the singer was never convicted. Yet the two cases churned up plenty of lurid headlines, including details about sleepovers with young boys and descriptions of sexual foreplay with minors—a troubling pattern that left many people convinced that Jackson was a child molester.

In the first instance, a 13-year-old boy, whose father was friends with Jackson, accused the pop star in 1993 of fondling him during sleepovers. The Los Angeles police investigated, but before any charges were brought, the singer settled the case for an estimated $20 million. In an impassioned television appearance before the settlement, Jackson pleaded, "Don't treat me like a criminal, because I am innocent." But there was a lingering belief that he feared facing a jury. As one music insider who knew him well said at the time, "Michael is a fighter—if he thought someone was just trying to take advantage of him he would never give in." Jackson himself said in British journalist Martin Bashir's 2003 Living with Michael Jackson documentary, "I didn't want to do a long, drawn-out thing on TV like O.J.... I want to go on with my life."

If so, he was to be spectacularly unsuccessful. In 2003 a 13-year-old boy who was a cancer survivor befriended by Jackson made similar accusations and pressed ahead with a criminal case. The prosecution relied in part on the Bashir documentary, in which Jackson bizarrely defended his practice of sleeping with kids—innocently, he claimed—who were not his own. "It's very right; it's very loving," he told Bashir. Still, the sometimes circus-like 2005 trial, which lasted 14 weeks and featured one memorable episode in which Jackson gleefully danced on the roof of his SUV, ultimately turned into a referendum on the accuser's mother, who, as the defense pointed out, had once been implicated in a welfare fraud. After seven days of deliberation, the jury acquitted Jackson of all charges, but not all suspicion.

Indeed he seemed to emerge from the trial a broken man, the downward spiral of his life and career only accelerating. His friend Dr. Firpo Carr says that the singer, who spent his last years often traveling abroad and raising his children, continued to be tormented by the stain the accusations had left on his reputation. "It took a great toll on him," says Carr. "He never recovered from the trial. He never did." As Carr tells it, Jackson's planned comeback was not just about money but about some attempt at personal redemption. "That was part of the reason for these concerts: to prove himself again," says Carr, "to give something great to his fans, the show of all shows, and to have the comeback of all comebacks. This was so everyone would remember him for his music, not for the scandals. He didn't get a chance to do that. But that's what it was about."

God, your nose is big." That's the taunt Michael Jackson, in a 2003 documentary, recalled his father repeatedly making, leaving the young star feeling like he wanted "to die. And on top of it, you got to go onstage ... in front of hundreds of thousands of people, and just, God; it's just hard. I would've been happier wearing a mask." In some way he ended up doing that: Starting with a nose job in the early 1980s, Jackson radically transformed his face, although he would only ever admit to a second nose job and the skin condition vitiligo (in which pigment-producing cells are destroyed). But plastic-surgery experts say vitiligo alone would not have left his skin such an even shade. "Vitiligo is usually not uniform; it appears in small patches," says plastic surgeon Pearlman Hicks, who adds Jackson could have lightened his skin to even it out using a medication that blocks pigment production.

Experts also note that, based on photos, it seems likely Jackson had more than 25 facial operations, with additional nose jobs, cheek implants, eye lifts and chin work possibly contributing to his changed visage. "There's no question he had too many inappropriate surgeries," says Dr. Wallace Goodstein, who shared a practice with Jackson's former plastic surgeon in the early 1990s. "And they didn't serve him well."

My Favorite Michael Jackson Song: 'Billie Jean'

’Billie Jean.’ The music is an incantation, a dark and sinister groove and bass line, and the lyric is a provocative glimpse into a noir-ish world that is stylishly decadent. False accusations, betrayals, vivid details, dancing in the round, more than a hint of menace and evil forces gathering against a presumably innocent narrator. But who is not tainted in such a world?” --Glen Ballard, songwriter/producer, co-wrote “Man in the Mirror”

Some fan's encounter with MJ lol

"When MJ came out here for his autograph signing my friend asked him for a kiss. She asked him in front of people. He told her yes and then they kissed each other on the lips. He liked that kiss and he liked returning it in front of those watching.

After getting that kiss from her, he wanted her to stay there with him until he finished signing autographs. He told her to come and see him that evening at his hotel.

When she asked him for what, he looked at her and said, "To see me."

When she asked him what he meant by to see me, he gave her the look that men give when they want to spend quality time with a lady, he slowed down his words and repeated "To...see...me."

It really amazed me since i have never imagined Michael like that. So i believe he had a certain behaviour with some people and completely different one with others. Surely he was a very smart person, maybe he intentionally created this angelic and childlike appearance and behaviour in public while in reality he was...well human. And a man, no less important."
