That song made me ache while he was alive so I can only imagine how it would make me feel if I listened to it now. Actually I'll put together the list of songs that touched me the most
We've Got Blue Skies Can I see You In The Morning Greatest Show On Earth Maria We've Got Forever Blues Away Fly Away They Don't Care About Us Money Is It Scary Aww man every song I think of is affecting me right now so I don't think I'll go on but these are the first ones that come to mind It's funny that you mention this song. I was just singing it this morning. One of my favorites also. Haven't heard it yet, though. I know I'll cry when I do...

I almost broke down on the subway listening to the radio on my walkman with this MJ mix they were playing. I'm going to finish listening to Off the Wall. I Can't Help It is the next song.
Off the Wall is just a brilliant POP record... my favorite At least Jackson has peace now. Just a sad sad sad story Dance... Let me see you dance

If Im honest, while MJs music makes me nostalgic, I didnt really love most of it or listen to it much. Somehow, little of his solo stuff stood up to time for me apart from Off the Wall. Now J5? I can bump some of that to this day, particularly Got to Be There and The Love You Save. In any case, MJ was a talent.

I am still in shock. Michael had such a profound effect on the music industry as he really was known worldwide for his great God-given talent.

I'm not a huge MJ fan but I do have most of his music from 1979-2001. I was a relatively late convert when I bought History , mostly for the hits, circa 1997 at the age of 17. I think the new music on History may be the most accurate portrait of who he really was. I certainly think that was the first and possibly only time that you got a bit of a peak behind the curtain at him. I'm not saying this as an insult but his previous albums were so commercial and I think he was trying to make them as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. History wasn't like that and for that reason it remains my favourite album of his.

Dsoul said: Most of his musical output was pretty decent up to and including the new singles on the History disc. After that it became pretty poor considering he takes plenty of time with top producers and songwriters between albums and has no excuses not to emerge with quality product.
"Live" in concert he became an absolute joke, all pompous, masturbatory theatrics and lip synching. The O2 Arena residency would have been a total trainwreck. Michael Jackson was the best live. His albums were nothing but perfection. Great music presented with impeccable taste. Nothing half-assed about his output. I am not a fan of the man's music, rock n roll is my game, but greatness has to be recognized. There was only one and just like Elvis and John Lennon before him, there was no one like him before and there will never be another like him. His was not a soul that comes around once in a lifetime. His was one that comes around once. Period. He was one of the last of his kind. McCartney is the sole survivor of the greats that actually changed the world with art. I don't think the world will see an entertainer of Micheal's caliber again.

the music lives on:
Michael Jackson may be gone, but his music is definitely living on. A quick look at iTunes' and Amazon's bestseller lists reveal a virtual run on the King of Pop's albums. On the current iTunes Top Ten Albums chart, he's taken over seven spots, starting with the 2005 five-disc retrospective The Essential Michael Jackson.
Rounding out the list? The 25th-anniversary edition of his 1982 blockbuster Thriller, 2008 hits package Number Ones, his 1979 solo breakthrough Off the Wall, 2004 box set Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection, 1987's Bad and 1991's Dangerous. On iTunes' Singles chart, the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" is still No. 1, but MJ singles "Man in the Mirror," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Thriller," "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Smooth Criminal" are scattered throughout the top 10. On Amazon, he's even more dominant: The Top 10 bestselling albums are currently all Jackson.

I don't believe I still don't own the "Off the Wall" album. I like everything I've heard on it, especially the title track which might be my favorite MJ song. Close second is "In the Closet". Great chorus. All time if you include the Jacksons is "Can You Feel It". Again, I don't even have an album with that song. Michael is definately being appreciated for his music right now.
