I like a lot of the classic Beach Boys hits like Surfin USA, Fun Fun Fun, Good Vibrations, Wouldn't It Be Nice, etc., but these are my two favorite songs from them:

I'm a fan of all of their classic years, but my favourite is the Surf's Up/Sunflower period. Most economic fallacies derive from the tendency to assume that there is a fixed pie, that one party can gain only at the expense of another.

There's a great movie about Jan&Dean called "Dead Man's Curve". Purchase my new novel, "Tones" at: http://www.cacoethespubli...08&book=74

I believe it was Dean but I'm not sure. I remember watching an episode on them on "Behind the Music". Somehow they found a way to reunite after all they went through. nWo (aka FUNK 3.0): bboy87 - timmy84 - muthafunka - littleBLUEcorvette - phunkdaddy - christopher

Not really into The Beach Boys that much, but I do have Sounds of Summer cd. Besides the well-known hits, my fave song is "Don't Worry Baby." That one touches me for some reason.

Ooh forgot that one! That was their little fling with the Phil Spector arrangements there and Brian (or was it Carl) Wilson singing so beautifully with that falsetto. nWo (aka FUNK 3.0): bboy87 - timmy84 - muthafunka - littleBLUEcorvette - phunkdaddy - christopher

They're a favorite of mine, and I used to bring them up here now and again. But I ended up talking to myself, so I stopped. Blanche: Oh, I do love the rain so! It reminds me of my first kiss.
Dorothy: Awww, your first kiss was in the rain... Blanche: No, it was in the shower.

To be perfectly honest, other than "California Girls" I never got into their surfin' phase that well. It was after they began to adapt newer sounds that I dug their material the most. Between 1964 or 1965 through 1968. nWo (aka FUNK 3.0): bboy87 - timmy84 - muthafunka - littleBLUEcorvette - phunkdaddy - christopher

I love the Beach Boys, America's biggest-selling band. My favorites ("Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "God Only Knows") have already been mentioned, but here are a few I love that haven't been posted yet:

The Beach Boys were pretty much known as a west coast surfer band with great harmonies, but Brian Wilson was heavily influenced by the Beatles and wrote most of the tracks for Pet Sounds as a response to Rubber Soul and Revolver. The Beatles were so impressed by Pet Sounds that they claimed it was their inspiration to do Sgt. Pepper. In fact, as the Beatles were working on Sgt. Pepper, Brian Wilson wanted to create their own version of it that would transcend all of the work they did before. This was also the time Brian Wilson started experimenting with LSD, and the sessions for Smile were supposedly influenced by one of his acid trips. Unfortunately, Brian started going crazy, and his bandmates started getting pissed at the direction of the album and it was eventually shelved until 2004.

Speaking of the Beatles, how perfect a tribute to the Beach Boys is "Back in the U.S.S.R."?

They were probably tied with the Rolling Stones and The Beatles for the most 45s in my collection when I was a kid.
