Having said that, there's nothing wrong in and of itself with teenagers experimenting with their sexuality. The problem, especially in the USA, is the fact that we have such conflicting info about sexuality that a lot of parents simply don't want to deal with when it comes to their children, so they're left to get their sex-ed from either right-wing Bible-thumping abstinence zealots or from internet porn. That's why you have teens taking abstinence pledges on one side while having anal sex on the other.

While I wouldn't come out and say that all teens are ready for sexual activity, there are some 14 year old kids who are responsible enough to engage in it. Then again, any 14 year old who can responsibly engage in sexual activity is also responsible enough not to get involved in gangs, drugs and alcohol, and they probably have goals for their life that they would not put in jeopardy. Likewise, there are 40 year old men who should have been given a vasectomy at age 12, as they can be seen Maury Povich denying paternity to some ghetto bimbo after having 12 kids with 10 different baby mamas. And you also have young 20 year old women who already have six to eight kids.

So many times it is overlooked in this thread that we are talking about the US and in different states, the age of consent is not 16 years old. We are talking kiddie porn and statutory rape. I don't care if you guys agree with it or not, it is the law.

Perhaps some of you would feel different if it were your kid. Sure, you may think having sex at 16 is fine but I can guarantee you that the boy or boys that 16 year old is having sex with thinks she's a whore.

Thank you Vendetta1, ot just goes to show that not all teens have the emotional/mental maturity to engage in sexual actitvity, they can if they want to but some of them will regret it.

And about boys who claim that some teen girls are whores, there are a lot of girls who talk a good sex game but underneath are really a bunch of teases. Or they suck dick and give hand jobs and people assume they are a bunch of sluts when in fact they may still be virgins. The problem this creates is that it may pressure girls who aren't ready to engage in sexual behavior to do so before they want to. They see the supposed "tramp" getting attention from a lot of boys, and they feel as though they have to put out to their own boyfriends to get the same approval. Then these other girls go on without using protection or birth control and end up getting pregnant or contracting an STD.

And yes, I give very good counsel to my daughter, whether she listens or not. I am very open with her sexually because my mom would not talk to me about sex, period. I was very sexually aware as a 14 year old but I knew enough to know I didn't want to have sex yet. The fact that Miley is dating a 20 year old says to me that she is not getting good info from the adults around her.

I, for my part, was trying to stick it into everything from about the age of 13. At 14 I managed it. It was crap. Would it have been any better if I'd waited for the "right person"? Don't make me puke. She was the "right person": she had a fanny and tits and to me that was fucking wonderful.
