Kinda weird, watching this..I was thinking, how could they ever replace the original singer?..This guy sounds very much like the old one (is Steve Perry his name?I keep confusing him with Joe Perry.lol)..but,he ain't as good..far from it...imho!!...still,it's a bit of a surprise to me wink

Hes been in the group for almost 2 years now, im surprised no one pointed out the fact that JOURNEY sold close to 600,000 of their latest with no videos no real label, no promo, limited airplay, and also the hype of todays so called stars, you know, scandals, arrests, nude pictures, beatings, shootings etc...

I have had several chances to attend their concerts in the past several years but I could not bring myself to go WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL frontman, Steve Perry. I just cannot ever see anyone else in his place, not ever.

hmm
I think if you would ask one of your Japanese or Fillipino friends or loved ones, they would not only beg to differ but would be highly insulted by that sort of comment confused

That's what I was thinking. eek I have no Asian ancestry in me, but I know better than to paint Asian cultures with a broad brush.

I remember watching their 'Behind the Music' on Vh1 back in the day, and I believe there were just tension between him and the other band members, so he left, but I agree, Journey just doesn't seem the same without him. Does he still perform??? Does anyone know? hmmm

Being part Japanese, I take offense to this comment. How about British, Irish, German, all the same? or black, jamaican, african, all the same? Don't be so freaking igorant, unless you're being stupid on purpose. :[Snip - luv4u]:

I'm glad you guys put him/her in his place. I bet he/she probably doesn't have a comeback, and probabably is wimpering in some corner..pathetic..

my bad....i was just kidding

i have a lot of respect for both cultures actually but sometimes my sense of humor can be a little sarcastic and inappropriate

sorry to offend anyone

if anything i was making fun of people that actually think that way, because you know there are many who think that

my mom still does not know the difference between Korea and Japan and thinks it is the same place

I am not sure if he does still perform, I thought he had throat cancer which is the reason why he does not sing anymore. One of the first opportunities I would have had to attend a Journey concert Steve was supposed to sing but could not because of his complications and was replaced by another Steve who sounded like him. After I heard of the switch, I decided that I would not go.

I saw Journey in 2006 when Jeff Scott Soto was singer and i was amazed how heavy they were live. I think they let him go because he didn't really fit the Journey blueprint like the new guy, i thought he was cool though. Gave the band a harder sound for sure.

The new album was a little too safe my liking. The One previous, Generations, with Steve Augeri was excellent. As for Steve Perry the band already have a soundalike in their drummer Jonathan Cain.
