i don't get it either. i thought she was gonna be some kind of lady kier kirby/princess superstar campy fun dance diva, but she's kind of like a drag queen who doesn't realize she's a drag queen singing fergie handmedowns. confuse

I don't get it either. Lots of gays like her too. I don't know why. Is she some gay hero? She's not a great singer, she can't really dance, she isn't good looking. What's the deal? A lot of her music sounds so similar. What's with the fuss? Because she dresses like a robotic stripper? What is she doing that is so special?

So is her voice.

Its the hot thing of the moment, like i said before, these things come and go so quick, talk to me five years from now when she has 4 albums done and each is better than the last. She is a something different, BUT far from original, which she knows, but props for her at least knowing the Queen song that she got her name from, cause most americans dont know that song, despite it being from the one of the biggest bands of all time

Everything they sang in the song, really did come true, the visual did eventually destroy the music, i dont think Lady Gaga knows what the song is about though, since most of what she does is about the "visual" kind of ANTI the theme of the Queen song

I think she's hysterical, at least "Poker Face" anyway. My wife bought the album, and although I don't love it, it's fun enough when it's on. Give me her over Lily Allen any day.

That really is it in a nutshell...but she's not ovexposed here across the pond yet, so I thinkI'll probably have another month or sountil I'm bored with her

You're not "supposed" to like anything. Plenty of people here like the cat noises Regina Spektor makes, but I don't ask why I'm "supposed" to like her.

I agree with all of your comments....I just feel confused to the music. I haer alot better out there than her style.

Regina Spektor sings Baby Love right Voices? I like it because it sounds like Madonna...plus it was produced by her producer...other than that I dont know any other song by her.

I was wondering too and so I did a little research...

I think she's got some real talent and vocal chops, although you wouldn't know it from the sound of her recent singles, which sound like any other pop song (bar the lyrics).

I think she's really taking the piss out of the pop divas and having a laugh to herself and that's the genius in it. Once she gets all these kids in the palm of her hands I hope she may head in a different direction. Could be very interesting! razz

I like what she's doing. Her songs are catchy, and she is definitely a better singer than Britney or Jessica Simpson. The key is: a catchy song.

No, this bitch: http://www.youtube.com/wa...GTDRztaCCw.

I think Lady GaGa is unique in the American pop landscape because she believes in the value of songwriting, and of building yourself up from nothing. In that way, she's very distinct. She's not some hot chick who can't sing and was just handed a record contract. She worked the clubs of NYC for many years - with her own songs - before breaking out this past year, and I have a lot of respect for that.

“I did this the way you’re supposed to. I played every club in New York and found myself as an artist. I learned how to survive as an artist and how to fail and then figure out who I was as a singer and performer. And I worked hard. I’m involved in every aspect of my work. I’m not like some singers, who just turn up to put their vocals over another person’s song."
-Lady GaGa

I don't understand complaints about her voice. She sings live - and does it very well. There's strength and versatility in the voice. I think people see her and think she's just some stupid pop fluff, but I think a song like Poker Face is genius - catchy beats and witty lyrics - especially when she sings it acoustically. And Just Dance is one of the catchiest songs in years for me - still fresh to this day (and I first heard it back in April of 2008 when it started to catch on in Canada).

For me, she's one to watch. Hell yes, and I'm going to say it, she reminds me of Madonna in her early years, only with a lot more musical talent.

But Paisley, I think we just have opposite tastes. You thought Stale Candy was one of Madonna's best and I'm all confuse lol

Funny you say that, since Gaga actually wrote a track on Britney's latest album.

Anyway, I like her. She's pretty fresh and engaging, I'm interested to see what she does next.

I just brought her CD on Saturday and I must say, I really liked it a lot more than I htought I would. It was fun, mindless music that wasn't bad to me. I really dug the synths on it. I was hearing Prince-type stuff and I wasn't even looking for that. It's a plus that she's from here in NYC too. I'm feeling Lady Gaga.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

clapping Agree with everything you said VoicesCarry. Lady Gaga is not just a very talented singer and performer, she's a great song-writer and very creative too. I think she's very original---yeah she may not be doing anything that hasnt already been done, but with the music industry constantly popping out generic "pop princesses" "pop divas" and "wannabe Beyonces", Lady Gaga truly stands out as her own, unique brand of artist. To put it simply, she's awesome! Her songs are catchier than the common cold wink And I dont think she's just the hot flava of the month either, I think she's got enough in her to have longevity in the biz.

For me, she's one to watch. Hell yes, and I'm going to say it, she reminds me of Madonna in her early years, only with a lot more musical talent.

To reply, I just dont understand they hype so far based on the one mediocore song Just Dance and Poker Face ill .. I mean I dont hate it. its better than hearing T-Pain or Lil John, but I see it everywhere..then when I finally pull it up it's like....I WAITED AROUND FOR THIS???!?!? . Maybe I will pull a purplecam and listen to the album and make my judgement. It could be a choice of BAD SINGLE.

And Voices...I would have hated Hard Candy if I only heard 4 Minutes (which isnt bad)and Give it To Me fuse
