Could be a lot of reasons why it has dropped off the iTunes top list..not necessarily just the quality of the track.
This is not an exit | |

U2 is more of an album band anyways (when it comes to sales).

rocknrolldave said: The fact that you can hear the track any time you want free of charge on the U2 website will have meant a lot of people didn't bother spending their cash on the track - many of them will wait for the album to come out rather than buy a track they will buy again in album form when they can hear it free anyway.
Agreed - that's the case with me. In the old days, if you wanted to listen to a track before the album came out, you had two choices - wait for hours in hope that the radio show you were listening to would play it, or buy the single. So I bought The Fly, Miss Sarajevo, Discotheque, even Beautiful Day, all knowing that I would later buy the album that the song was on (admittedly, the b-sides helped too). When Vertigo came along, there was no real reason to do it. Now with Get Your Boots On, there's no reason to do it either - I can hear the song online anytime I want, and there are no unique tracks bundled in with the song to make me buy it. Honestly, I'm happier this way - it saves me from spending money on duplicates of tracks. [Edited 1/26/09 9:08am]

I like U2 but i never go back to their old catalog that much. Their definately overrated studio wise but they do put on a great live show.
