I LOVE this song. Yes, I admitted it.

It's funny....I don't like alot of late-90s R&B but I did like this song I also like their other big hit "Too Close" or "So Close" (whatever it's called,lol).

you aint lying...usually when dj's play "wifey", the next song is almost always "too close" then to Jaheim's "Just in case". just awful! Its like nails going down a fucking chalk board to my ears.

the bassline is nice sounds like a lot of stuff from the late 70's and early 80's r&b, made me think of the bassline for don't stop till you get enough though I know there are a million other examples

I just liked the tune, the word wifey is awful though, does anyone actually use that? We do here (Scotland) but it means something different, not cute, almost derogatory...

I looove this song. I will never get tired of it for some odd reason...its RL's voice I think...even tho his solo album was TURRIBLE. He still lives over North Minneapolis I think. One of my people from High School still hangs out with him but I dont think he is doing anything special these days.

Never liked this song just for the sheer fact that it helped to popularize the word 'wifey'.

As for the Let's Get Married song, never cared for that one since it always sounded like the guy was lying around doing nothing else and thought why the hell not.

You don't have to be from the singer's hometown to like the song

Hell, I was born in Oakland and currently live in the Bay Area, and I HATED Goapele's song "Closer"(they played that damn song every 20 minutes on the radio here) and Keyshia Cole's song "Love" (EVERY hoodrat was singin' that shit....loud, offkey...AND in groups! )
