God . some of the comments here are really stupid.

Im not a fan of beyonce ,however to say that she is not talented or can't sing is a silly overboard statement , beyonce is a talented and she is no doubt can sing , people maybe tired and sick of her because she is always on TV singing, perfroming...etc...what I should say that she should try to keep a low profile, disappearing for at least 3 or 4 years then comeback with something good but to say that she is not talented is absurd.

Y'all kill me with this type of stuff. You cannot tell me someone can obviously do a damn thing. Talent is subjective. A matter of opinion only.

You act like its easy to write the best selling novel in the world. And you do know she was so poor beforehand she had to use her friends house for air conditioning?

I know the whole J.K. Rowlings story, which is why I brought her up. She was on welfare for years before the Harry Potter fame. Both she and Oprah worked from poverty to riches, without inheriting the money, marrying into it, or flaunting themselves, which was the basis behind the original statement. Both women made their money by using their brains and not their bodies, which I have always and will always see as being the most important and praise-worthy achievement in any career whether the person is male or female. I still think that teachers should be the highest paid people in this world next to doctors, police officers, and firefighters; but they aren't, which I find to be very sad and inexcusable. That's why I admire Oprah and J.K. so much and called them both brilliant women...you just skipped over that whole part and made it sound like I was trying to insult J.K., which was totally not the case. Anyone who works from welfare to billionaire without compromising themselves and their morals will always be amazing to me. All of Beyonce's tour grosses, album sales, endorsement deals, fashion line profits, and film paychecks don't equal a small portion of J.K.'s net worth and she made her money by using her imagination and a typewriter...can't beat that; absolutely amazing what she's accomplished and young girls should really be modeling themselves after her and Oprah instead of glammed up celebrities IMO.

It's telling that from "envious" you got "jealous of looks" when there's a million things you could be jealous that Beyonce, or any star, has.

That's why I initially said that the only thing she has that I want is her bank account, otherwise everything else isn't something I envy. You even agreed with this part:

estelle81 said:

She can have Jay-Z and her daddy and mommy-controlled career, because there's nothing about these two things that I find remotely appealing, but that's just me. What she possesses in the looks and singing department, she seems to lack in the smarts department IMO. From the majority of her interviews, she definitely doesn't seem like the brightest lightbulb in the box, which is probably why I don't like her movies. She's great when she's singing and dancing, but talking and acting, yeah, not soo much.

estelle81 said:

That's why you see more female celebrities getting plastic surgery than male celebrities nowadays, because they probably don't have much real talent to fall back on when the wrinkles and cellulite become more abundant.

purplesweat said:

Don't know about that. Plenty of male stars have surgery.

confused That's why I said that 'you see more female celebrities getting plastic surgery than male celebrities nowadays'. Where did I say male celebrities absolutely never get plastic surgery in that statement? Have you seen Mickey Rourke's face lately? boxed Don't even get me started on MJ who has taken it way overboard at this point. But, for every Mickey Rourke and MJ, you have Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford who are both still great actors who seem to not have had any plastic surgeries...hope they never do. Sure, there are some female celebrities who remain natural, but sadly, they are slowly being outnumbered by the cosmetically enhanced ones. Hope this trend dies out soon.

It's sad you're saying this in a Beyonce thread, someone who has "over weight" back up dancers and singers, someone who has a multi cultural all female band, someone who's sung and continues to sing countless female anthems, someone who isn't a stick, someone who can actually sing...yet judging by what I'm reading here and the impossible prince.org standards, she's apparently no better than Paris Hilton.

lol Tinkerbell was better than Paris Hilton. How is it sad? Lots of females, not just famous, say something empowering yet do actions that contradict the empowering statement. Katherine Heigl did "Knocked Up" then bad-mouthed the film after it hit big in an interview several months later by saying she thought the film was sexist...yet her dumb ass agreed to be the female lead in the film and got a paycheck for it. disbelief Beyonce did "Irreplaceable" but also had a song called "Cater 2 U" that she did with DC and 'Baby Boy' on her first solo LP. Two totally different messages that really do contradict each other greatly. Like I've said numerous times, she's not the only one guilty of doing this, so I can't just put all the blame on her.

Kid Rock has the most diversely impressive band that I've seen in a while, and I'm not much of a fan of his. I've always been awed by his female drummer...she's bad ass for real and definitely doesn't scream Hollywood glamour girl. You always like to skip over things and misconstrue statements. I stated, and I

quote myself:

She's great when she's singing and dancing, but talking and acting, yeah, not soo much

and

Beyonce actually has some real talent
. If you're going to quote me, please be more thorough instead of making me look like a villian by leaving out points that clearly state otherwise. As amazing a singer as Beyonce is, she relies on her image more than she should have to IMO.

So why do so many people bag out Beyonce on here for NOT doing those things? Just cause it causes them so much pain to see her on tv commercials?

I can't speak for others; I can only speak for myself. Honestly, I don't know why some are unable to give credit where it's due, because even though I'm not a Beyonce fan, I have no problem saying that the girl can sing and dances her ass off. Like I said before, I can't get all that mad at any one celebrity who is just trying to make their paper. Endorsement deals = easy money. Rich people got bills just like everybody else. The dislike for Beyonce isn't nearly as bad as some of the Justin Timberlake hate posts I've read on here, and even though I like him, I'm not going to get all bent out of shape about it when I read posts with opinions that differ from mine, because I believe that everyone has a right to voice their own opinions. If this was a forum where everyone agreed and liked the same things, it would be nauseating, boring, and I definitely wouldn't be coming here. Differences make life more interesting and freedom of speech is something that everyone should have the right to use.

You're a little late with this, pretty much all three girls are completely different from what they were last year. Britney's got the security and medication she needs, Paris isn't seen out much unless it's a premiere or launch of something and Lindsay is back to working on a movie. They had their acting out and seem to have got it out of their systems. Now lets move on to more important things like our own lives.

Britney is being controlled at the moment; Paris was called a used condom along with many other not so nice statements by a reporter on camera; and Lindsay started to distance herself for the ones who were helping in her destruction...her family. You can only act out and get soo many negative responses for so long before you either choose to change your ways or disappear. None of them can disappear because they need to keep making money to maintain their lavish lifestyles, so they have to change. I hope they have all changed for the better, like Nicole Richie seems to have done, but even the strongest have slipped back into bad habits after being good for long periods of time. One day at a time really isn't just a motto that should be used only for recovering addicts.

estelle81 said:

What's popular isn't always good; and, what's good isn't always popular. In Britney's case, I believe people have come to the point where they support her because either: 1) they feel sorry for her (definitely not something to brag about), 2) they like the spectacle of her life and want to see how it keeps unfolding, or 3) they are diehard fans who will buy anything she puts out...she could probably crap in boxes, wrap them up in sparkly paper, and stick a bow on them and many (not all) of her fans would run out and buy more than one. Fanatics always seem soo easy please and they are usually the main reason why many medicore celebrities remain relevant nowadays. Just my twocents

purplesweat said:

How many times are you gonna repeat this in every thread?

I support her because I, and this might shock you, enjoy her music.
!!!!!

It's not such a difficult concept.

I'm no diehard fan, I haven't spent any money on her since 2003. I just like what I hear, download it, and don't get caught up in tabloid gossip. Simple.

Then you fit into the 'not all' part, which I clearly stated, so I don't understand why you seem offended about something that doesn't apply to you. How many times are people going to make posts about the same artists on this forum? That should help in answering that question. If you like the music, than that's all that should matter and people's opinions of her image shouldn't really bother you. I love Mariah's music, but haven't really been able to stand her image over the past few years....same goes for Whitney and Christina A. to an extent. That's usually the major difference between diehard fans and fans in my mind. Just because I like an artist, doesn't mean I have to be okay with everything they do. Something that many fans, mostly diehards, seem to want to throw out in a debate is the line, "They are just human", EXACTLY!!! and humans make mistakes and should be held accountable for them. That doesn't mean they have to make a public apology, but that doesn't mean that their bad actions should be pushed under the rug and overlooked either. If regular people can't get away with DUIs, endangering others, and drug addiction, than they shouldn't be allowed to either. They are humans, who just happen to have alot of fame and money, but fame and money doesn't make them perfect or worthy of idol worship and brain dead adoration. Just my twocents

You said "JK Rowling is a millionaire and all she did was write a couple of books".

So sorry for that dreadful misinterpretation...

Well I did say that the list goes on!!!!

Also, regarding Janet Jackson, have u seen her in interviews?? She is so quiet that u can hardly hear what she says and she is so self-concious and stuck up that she is so scared 2 let her self go, particularly when she is on such shows as The Ellen Degeneres Show and other daytime shows!! She needs 2 loosen up and stop taking herself so seriously!!!nod nod

too funny. I have always thought that too, but she really did a lot of interacting on ellen's show. other than that, she is waaayyyy toooo paranoid acting.

Even J.Lo's fame didn't last forever. How long are we going to give Beyonce?

Place your bets..place your bets....

On a semi-related note, I actually plan to see the sequel to Pink Panther.
I really wanted to see the first one, but couldn't see myself sitting through
her "acting." I love Steve Martin though - so at least I'll have my chance.
Better not be any cameos by her over-exposed ass.

Beyonce's fame has already lasted longer than J.Los.

J.Lo started fading in 2003 when Beyonce was at her peak.
