The South Side man long suspected in the October killing of actress Jennifer Hudson’s three family members was arrested Monday.

William Balfour, a convicted felon, was arrested Monday afternoon at Stateville Correctional Center, where he was being held on parole violations.

Balfour, 27, was awaiting the filing of murder charges in the shootings of Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson; Hudson’s brother, Jason Hudson; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.

Balfour is the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia, who is Julian’s mother.

Police believe Julia Hudson was in a quarrel with Balfour at the Hudsons’ home in the 7000 block of South Yale in Englewood. Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were shot to death in the home, but Julia was not there. Julian was found dead three days later in an SUV on the West Side."

Not that this is a surprise, but what a disturbing development.

And they think the motive was a mere argument? Wow. I can't imagine what issue would be so aggravating that he'd kill three people so violently, one of them a 7-year-old kid.

I have been following this story, and I really thing that there is alot more to this story. William Baoufer, along with Jennifer's murdered brother were both very well known gang members. Her brother was arrested years ago on drug trafficing, but was released on a technicality. The way that murder went down seemed like a gang hit. I also believe that Julia knows more than she is actually telling. It is heartbreaking that her 7 year old nephew was killed, but he was able to identify the killers. I also think that William Baoufer did not work alone.

Where in the hell was Julia when all this crap went down? Just seems odd that she was the only one not there when this went down. Mom,Jason & Julian all present, Julia just happen to not be thee for whatever reason during those early hours when this went down. She could be innocent but someone else is involved. The cops I beleive are very much aware of this.

i dont know what 2 think on this story i just think its totally heartless that somebody would kill a 7 yr old kid i dont give a hot damn what the reason was he was such a cute and happy lookin kid who life has been taken over what something as lame as a fight or whatever god need 2 take the wheel cuz we certainly cant drive no more

Very sad state of affairs all the way around. I hope Jennifer stays clear of the thugs in her life and takes a different road. She is very talented and I hope she makes better choices than her sister and brother have.
