Like Madonna, Britney is more of a gay icon these days. I don't know when this started. All I know is back in 1999-2001 girls wanted to be her.
I guess after Britney became tragic all the drama queens with bad taste stuck to Britney.

I guess we have to accept that she won't go away in the near future. I NEVER would have guessed that ten years after 1999 she still would be out there.

I don't respect her as a person and artist though. She doesn't have much in her brain, doesn't write the "songs" (sounds would be a better description).

If you want the Madonna comparism... Madonna hit ten years after her first hit single a low... But she achieved much more than did Britney the years before and also she grew artistically.
