they need a TOTAL overall, they cant come back just as a band that happens to play behind Gwen Stefani. They need to blow out and go back to their "playing" roots like they had on their first 2 records.

I'm glad they're coming back. I've never been that big a fan of Gwen's solo work, although I like a few songs like Early Winter.
I think they will be fine as long as they don't go too pop and dancey like her solo work, but retain more of their rock and ska sound.
I think it speaks volumnes about the kind of person Gwen is that she is loyal enough to do another album with them after her massive solo success.
So many singers would get a big ego and say screw the old band, I don't need them because I'm a superstar on my own.
Whatever you think of her music, Gwen is really a lovely generous person.

I sat a few seats away from Gwen last night at the Sarah Silverman show here in LA, girl looked amazing! I've never thought she was all that - but dang, she was a knockout in person. Reminded me a lot of old school Madonna.

Anyway, I like ND way better than her shitastic solo crap. Return of Saturn and Rock Steady both had a couple killer songs in my opinion. I think people would welcome them back...
