As a Michael Jackson Fan...I say Ne-Yo is the closest we have these days

Seriously - his new CD sounds like an MJ tribute disk. Track 2 is totally "The Way You Make Me Feel" for 2008.

Sorry, I don't buy swagger jacker CDs.

Urgh! God no. Ne-Yo, Akon, Usher and the like are all horrible. If a skinny dude turns up pulling MJ moves and trying to sing like him i might take note, all these guys are wide and ripped. Not right. They come across as obsessed, blatant thieves. Akon probably the biggest offender.

Ne-Yo wishes! He may sing good and dance ok enough, but he does not have one important ingrediant that MJ at his peak had MORE than enough of and that is CHARISMA....STAGE PRESENCE. I saw Ne-Yo open for Alicia Keys and I'm sorry but there was just nothing there. It was like watching a student perform in his high school talent show. And that is not to say I think he's untalented (even if I like little to none of his music myself), but what Ne-Yo can offer is a dime a dozen....10 other attractive male singers could whisk in and take his place at any moment and nobody would care. Somebody like MJ is once in a lifetime.

I'm a casual MJ fan myself, but comparing him to the likes of Ne-Yo is almost sacreligious!

well of course all these people are like high school show imitators but out of most of them, ne yo writes and produces a lot of his songs and has a decent voice, so for now he's the IT mj impersonator, it could be someone else in a few years.

I just don't get this guys appeal.

Neyo doesnt try to sound like MJ
plus neyo is a big fan of prince he knows even his less known songs

Ne-yo is ok; However once he starts bringing some actual funk or dance funk to his music, I'll get the comparisons. He's a good lyricist though
