Michael and Janet's dancing Ok, I know there are a lot of MJ and Janet fans on here, and I am not sure if this has been asked before, but who do you think is the better dancer of the two siblings?

It's not even a question. It's a fact Michael's a better dancer. Janet might have better routines nowadays or changes her routine up or whatever, but Michael is still obviously the better dancer. If he did the routines Janet did he'd do them better. Just watch Ghosts or the bad tour, theres no way Janet could ever dance like that or make it look that good. But anyway yes this topic has been done.

I would have to say they are both very good dancers but I think Mike is the better of the two. Mike just flows better he seems more natural when he does his moves.

TO the point of dancing Michael Jackson has better structured dance moves, however he has really fell on any more signature dance move making and his choreography has not been updated since 1995's VH1 Honor Show..he did the same choreography in 2004(?) I believe for the American Banstand Anniversary show.

Janet has good choreography, but even so, she is NOWHERE near Michael's level. You see people doing the moonwalk and imitating his other moves, but you don't see ANYONE doing any "Janet" moves. This is not even close.

Paula Abdul. I know she did a lot of Janet's choreography in the beginning and some say she did some of MJ's too, don't know how true that is though.

But, just off of being the most memorable dancer of the two: MJ, hands down. He made the backslide famous and had millions of people all over the world trying to imitate it. I love both of them for their great dance routines though. When I watch Janet's 'Rhythm Nation', 'If', and 'I Get So Lonely' videos and MJ's 'Thiller', 'Bad', 'Smooth Criminal', and 'Remember The Time' videos, they still give me a Joker's grin. Had to correct you. The move he's famous for is actually called the backslide. The real moonwalk is when Michael moves around in a circulated motion and pops in and out of his body before stopping. The backslide had been around for over 50 years before Michael did it first in 1983. The media didn't know what to call it but then said "moonwalk" because of the way Michael's dance started and then ended with his Fred Astaire steps. He mixed pop-locking and hoofing at "Motown 25", that's why the move was so amazing when people who normally didn't follow youth culture or forgot about musicals from back then were amazed when he did do it. nWo (aka FUNK 3.0): bboy87 - timmy84 - muthafunka - littleBLUEcorvette - phunkdaddy - christopher

That's what makes a great dancer to me. Taking from things you know and love and making them into your own. It's a timeless move that millions of people know it as his signature. This move as well as his 'tutting' (sp?) in the 'Remember The Time' video and the 'lean' in 'Smooth Criminal' are something that just mesmerize me to this day. This had me like "I'm dissatisfied with every record that the Beatles ever fucking made." John Lennon

He did a kick ass job, because I will sit through that whole segment of the "Moonwalker" video just to see that part and that video is mad long...really hate the sped up version. "I'm dissatisfied with every record that the Beatles ever fucking made." John Lennon

That was a whole elaborate routine. Which part was Tutting? Tutting was throughout the big dance routine. That whole routine had so many different dance styles in it, which is probably why I like it soo much. http://www.youtube.com/wa...Esg-9PDQOE "I'm dissatisfied with every record that the Beatles ever fucking made." Both are excellent dancers, but Michael (from a child) is a natural, gifted dancer. "POOR IS THE MAN WHO'S PLEASURES DEPEND ON THE PERMISSION OF ANOTHER" Madonna
